| Good effort by all the lads. Not much in it - just the experienced pivots that Wire had made the difference in the end. Augers well for the season. Important that the lads regroup and take confidence from a very tough easter weekend. No time for a dip now we have to kick on. Thought the forwards were immense today especially those who toughed it out on Friday. With a full team out I think we would have exploited the field position we had better and come out on top.

| Didn't think we would get anything today, & that was before I saw the reshuffled side. Then we lost Longy & I feared the worst.
The application from the side today though was superb.
Think it proves the spirit within the camp must be really good. I was as proud of the team today as I was on Friday.

No, I'm not saying your any less of a fan or any other for that matter!! We all pay the same entry fee and may do as we wish!!
I just feel for the players to have played their hearts out after a few mid game injuries against a poor referee after a gruelling derby game, and ended up on the wrong side of a big scoreline that certainly did not reflect the game!! And after all of that they look up and see everybody gone!!! Not at the final hooter, but 15 mins from the end when Warrington went 2 full scores in front!! Give the lads some kind of lift and then maybe they'll care in their next game!!
We need to pick them up as much as the coach does otherwise we can't blame anyone but ourselves!!
also, I've done my 15yr stint myself and will do til the day I die!!!

| Those lads deserved to be clapped off. So we stayed and clapped them off. It would be nice if people didn't go early, but some will always do it, it's one of those things.

I appreciate that and don't have too much of an issue with it!! But just as an opposition try goes over and everyone walking out is what really gets my back up!! It's just like you're giving up, but the team don't just give up and walk out do they??

| Todays result did not reflect the effort the team put it I will give you that, proud of the way they stood up and for the majority of the match held firm. Ganson made is usual howlers, but he did not lose the game for Hull that was lost on Good Friday and the wear and tear on the pack during that game.
Wire where always going to be the stronger in the last 15 or so and thus it proved, FC where dead on there feet towards the end. Losing Long early on was a bad blow, but they rallied around and with maybe a few less injuries during the match could have toughed it out. I question the wisdom in selecting Reece Lynne, clearly it would have been madness to toss him into the fray, I suspect the seventeen on duty where only fit players we had left.
With Leeds coming up the next two weekends its hardly the right time to play them as they seem to be finding a bit of form and players are coming back. We shall see, but the rest of the seasons fortunes could well be lying on the stadia of both East and West Hull.

I could not fault one player, even Warrington played well but the difference was the man in the middle!!
'"
Was pleasing to see the effort we put in with a patched up side, an injured 7 going off and only 2 subs to use for most of the game.

| Quote: Kosh "A tad harsh. We had no recognised halfbacks once Long went off, so hardly surprising that we struggled to score. And our back division might have been pedestrian but we have problems with injuries.
I have seen this side exhibit attacking flair when we have something approaching our first choice side out, and in particular something approaching our first choice halfback pairing. I think that just because we haven't had the appalling injury crisis of the last couple of seasons some people seem to have overlooked the fact that our backs have been all over the place due to a constant string of short-term injuries to players. We've had several halfback combinations and several right wing/centre combinations, a situation that is bound to hinder attack and, in the second case, defence. Players develop partnerships and a feel for how each other play - this is rather difficult when you play with a different partner and even in a different position each week.
There are definite improvements on last season and signs at least that we can still play better. Plenty of work to be done but no need to get out the step ladder and rope just yet.'"
I accept now that my heat of the moment post was a tad trigger happy.
That being said, there is clearly no plan B. What I mean by this is the lack of pivots once Horne and Long are not on the pitch.
I disagree to an extent about lacking a half back. I was under the impression that Washbrook was a stand off?? Whiting has played 6. Turner has played 13 and 6. Berrigan has played just about everywhere. Now I don't expect these guys to be world beaters BUT I would have thought they would have taken a few more risks especially when we are chacing the game.
I find the comment of "couldn't ask for more committment" a bit stale from Agar. He needs to take responsibility for saying he got tactics wrong.
Having Lyne on the bench was a waste of a spot in the 17 if he has no intention to use him. I would also go as far as to say, when we went 22-10 down with 10 mins left, Lyne would have been worth a stint if only to utilise his pace against a tiring defence. Lyne to the Wing, Whiting to 6????? For the last 10 minutes anyway.
Other than the openning game at St Helens and the home game against Cas can we really say we have played well with ball in hand?
