No one said Briscoe will let us down, the point was that players like Inglis are a world apart from what we have.

I remember someone once saying on TV years ago " I cant see how this little welsh fellow will cope with the power and size of the Australian captain"
that little welsh fellow creamed him all match and scored one of the greatest trys of all time for Gt Britain at wembley against the then all conquering Oz team!!

so my point is that Briscoe will play against what is in front of him and lets be fair Briscoe hits well above his weight also

If we can play the ball quickly we can beat their line speed and keep turning them around

We don't need to be camped in our 20 for defence to be key. Missing a one on one tackle in their 20 could easily lead to a try against the aussies. I don't think we have the intensity in defence to put them under the pressure we need to

I cant see us scoring many points against the Australians. They are far superior in the backs and our only hope is that it is belting down with rain throughout the match and it turns into a forward battle even then I think we will struggle to contend with them.
I personally think the Australians will target Tom Briscoe from the cross field kicks as for me it's his weakest part of the game that needs developing. Thank god Israel Folau isnt playing against him!

exactly, inglis is the world's best centre, we dont have anyone who can front up to him if he is on form

I think as always , as most British fans do you have misunderestimated and easily done, Burgess etc the quality we have, its always too easy to look at Oz and say they are superior etc etc, maybe they have led the world at national level but the domestic stuff has been much closer as seen in the recent years start of season war between the UK & Oz champs, this I believe is now starting to show with the emergence of such tallents as Briscoe and the other kids, place that alongside the big guns we undoubtedly have in our pack and i believe its an evens match to be honest

And thats not me knocking what weve got, because i think its better than weve had for a while, i just think that while we're re-building for the future the aussies had a head start and are half way there.

I dare say the Aussies will be targeting Briscoe on tomorrows game will be a big test for the lad
