Quote: The Hollywood Frasier "Yeah I would do, the fact we have Lauaki not even in our 17 now taking up a overseas spot and I imagine he would be somewhat of a high earner is madness. Just let the guy go and given 1 of those 3 a shot and see how they go when injuries/resting a player means they get the call to play 1st grade.'"

In your opinion are any of those three ready for SL, I don't watch any u20's games.

What attributes do ach of them have and which position are they most suited to?

Green physically is the most ready for SL as he is a very big guy and is a athletic prop which is why he plays at 13 for the reserves.

Liam Kent is the 1 who I think personally has the most potential and is your typical 'Gilmour type' wide running second rower.

Cunningham is a workaholic and the other second rower but tends to play more central instead of looking to go wide like Kent.

All 3 of them could step up and give the 1st team a good 30mins no problem which is realistically the best you can expect from them at this stage of their development if they are expected to come off the bench and give somebody a breather.

Cheers Frasier, hopefully before the season ends we can see them get some game time. Agree on the point you made about Lauaki earlier, he needs to seriously improve to get a new deal.

Quote: PAUL M "Not so much an offload but he did often pass just before thre collision to another prop or Horney and that was quite affective especially with his late step.

The way things are looking I can see us resigning most of our players as there seems to be very little to go for so Fitz, Dowes, Long, Lauaki etc could well get new one year deals.

Pointless letting them go for the sake of it if there is nothing in the market. We will only need what we release. I´d really be looking for a FB and HB and if there are no options then sign up Phelps and Long again.'"

I agree to an extent but i wouldn't be very happy keeping Long next season as I think it is time for him to retire - purely going by his injury record. I would rather take a gamble on a young overseas scrum-half and see if they cut it in SL.

I would seriously consider releasing Lauaki but there are plenty of games left this season for him to show us what he's about. Dowes has really turned it on recently and if Lauaki can do the same like we have seen glimpses of, then he may be worth keeping.

Bottom line for me is if we can't improve the half-back pairing then may as well try and sign a better full-back as it is probably the next best position to improve our attack

All men are created equal, some work harder in preseason. -[i:1c45x4hd]Emmitt Smith[/i:1c45x4hd]:

Quote: PAUL M "By whom?

Kent, Cunningham, Green?

Tbh I would sign up most of what we already have if we don´t have options and give the youngsters some more gametime, we´ll never know if we don´t use them. Lauaki could be an option to lose depending on what Agar thinks of the kids?

The one for me is Phelps, he does ok but not as good as i´d hoped so would definately try for a better fullback, more pace preferrably.'"

phelps is getting better every game, his confidence is growing aswell as his ability as he gets settled

Old Faithfull.....in any kind of weather.....:

Personally think Green is ready and was very unlucky not to feature against Oldham. He plays like a clone of Fitz.

Unsure another big turnover of players is the answer. At this stage i would keep Phelps as our fullback, but would possibly release Lauaki.Add the good possibility Fitz will retire, leaves us with 2 quota places- 6 and a 7 ?
