| So he's gone then?
If he has it just seems more evidence of getting rid of anyone who's not a robot. Throwing away talent in our game is stupid. There's precious little to go around and it should be up to the coaches to mentor players and develop them into team players without losing their flare. If the coach thinks he just has to tell a player which direction to run , not to drop the ball and not to miss tackles then to me that's just missing the point. Most of us rue the lack of "characters" in the game and want entertainment as well as success. Quality management should be able to deliver both and harness the talent. Getting rid would probably be an admission that they're not up to it.

| Pritchard often played the full 80 minutes for the Bulldogs.
He's not an impact player to be used off the bench.
Should be starting where we can utilise his skills from the off.

| Quote: Graham Richards "Maybe because what we have is not suitable at the moment. Sneyd needs assistance. Abdull to 13. Pryce last season before retiring? Rankin gone. Tyson Wilson should have been making moves by now. I personally think we are short there. From what I heard I don't think I'm the only one who thinks that.'"
Agree, I am still unsure on Sneyd, I think we need a good quality half back to challenge what we have already.
Westerman has not fulfilled his potential and if he is one of our higher earners and we can use his wages to bring in a quality half back then that would be a good move.
With the pack we have next year I don't think Westerman would be a great loss and if Sneyd cant perform behind that pack next year then he might as well give up.

Pritchard has come off the bench many times in his career. Only last year or so he's reverted back. This is a Different league and I personally think coming off the bench in our league and running fresh at fatigued opposition were defences are not as structured he would be devastating. Plus he gets older each season. Plus we play more games a year than he's used to without byes for rest weeks.

Hull have a history of not being able to deal with certain types of player personality. Danny Brough was another who was shown the door....wonder what happened to him?

spent a few years in the wilderness then went to Huddersfield where his talent has been utilised, but he isn't as good as most make out. Best of a poor bunch imho. He's grown up thats for sure, but it took a while.

Most players have come off the bench during their careers but he doesn't now.
SL still isn't a patch on the NRL. Sure at Easter he will need a break but he is a very fit guy.
Plus he is more of a ball handler than a devastating runner and so isn't an impact player to be used off the bench.

We still need to use him sensibly IMO and not play him for 80 minutes every week until he invariably breaks down as we do with all of our back rowers

Correct, and with the quality we have none of our forwards should be doing 80 minutes unless we are down to the bare bones.
Hard to choose a forward pack for next year, if Westy stays, one of Mini, Pritchard or Manu will be on the bench!

Imagine starting with Mini and Manu and then when one of them goes off, on comes Frank.
What effect will that have on opposition teams?

Exactly my point. As an offloaded passer and runner all combined I think he'd be best suited to our league coming from the bench. Given the rotation options we'll also get more out of mini. Mini in say two 30 min spells would be much better. Not knocking him but his errors n pens were massive. Due to slogging himself. With a more balanced workload he'll be more effective imo.
Pritchard and Taylor off the bench 5/10 mins apart 20 or so in when Defenses have dipped in intensity and fatigue kicking in would be hard and in many game demoralising to the opposition

I would start with Frank and Manu and bring Mini off the bench for his spells.
Mini is more of a runner than Frank.

Agreed and I'm not saying he should play 80 minutes every week. Especially with our options in the back row.
But he should start imo and is more than capable of playing the full 80 minutes if required.

But frank through sheer size takes defenders. When already tired asking opposition to really commit again is gonna create space. Add in that they don't know if he'll pass run offload I just think in this league he'll be more effective off the bench.
With a back row of frank mini and manu is fine in any combo I'd say. Just personally feel with his personal attributes and the SL standard of opposition centres n back rows compared to the nrl and the more open less defensive style he'll be unplayable at times if you throw him in fresh against defenders already blowing
In the modern game benches have become a bit robotic and functional. A x factor player who can change the course or momentum of a game would be a massive advantage.
I'd like Taylor off the bench too and feka as his small mins wouldn't matter as 3 of Taylor watts Ellis have big mins so he could just up the tempo and bring some urgancy. Then abdull for some nous later.
The pack is very tasty imo and many combos. Hooker is really the only worry. Seems a few teams have this problem tho
