When Crocker failed in his visa attempt he said on tv that his criminal record cost him a million dollars, to pay a player that now is over 200k a season.

If were looking at a younger inexperienced player we'll have to over pay as there's a minimum wage which is expected to rise (some estimates say double) next season, unless they have the right passport they can't get a visa anyway.

Luke Kelly, average personified, has just got a deal with Parramatta because of the lack of halves in the nrl. The only players we can get are the ones ready for retirement who's bodies can't handle the nrl anymore or the ones shamed out of the nrl. So we either get a O'Meley, a hindrance in his last season, or a Lui.

Under Gallop expansion was put back to at least 2015, the commission may bring that forward now meaning more players needed for the NRL.

How much would it roughly have been at the time with Crocker then?

Surely there's a half in the NRL who isn't going to get a deal that would fancy a move over here, a Blake Green type maybe?

It depends when he signed it but around 130,000 a year.

They're could be a player like Green but some players might want to hold out and see what pay rise they'll get with the salary cap rise and the prospect of more clubs.

England gets alot of bad raps of the aussie press and with people watching the jubilee rain I can't see them knocking the door down just yet.

Agreed, there must be a fair chance of him getting an immediate release.

Hopefully he will have agreed the release before deciding to sign for us.

Otherwise hkr could stop him signing like we did with Hall.

Sorry, I was taking it literal. As in play for us and go home for SOO mid season. As you say, I can't see it any/many more coming over the year after/going back to play Origin.

With our other half back Matty Smith leaving Salford at the end of the season, I can't see us allowing Daniel Holdsworth to leave as well. Especially with Holdsworth still being contracted to the club for another season after this one. Not unless the transfer fee were substantial anyway.
