I've always liked Gleeson but I have been very unimpressed with him since his move to Wigan. Not sure he has the hunger for the game anymore tbh.

I can't see it happening a Wigan have just shelled out money for him.

He is an international class centre - who if signed would be great. Playing alongside his best mate might bring the best out of him

Would have Gleeson in a heartbeat.....on his day easily the best centre in S/L.....runs great angles...knows how to get his winger away and can do a turn at S/O as well......only way it will happen is player exchange for Tickle as Wigan are very light in the back row.

His biggest asset is his ability to put his winger away/in but he has looked completely off his game since the move to Wigan.

I agree Paul but how many players has that happend to in the past.......maybe he didnt want to go and felt he was forced out and also the expectation of playing for Wigan and your hometown club may have affected him.

So did Calderwood and to a lesser extent Tickle.

Quote: FC Callum "Wouldn't like to see Yeaman in the back row, not big enough, best as a centre.

Got enough backs now in Tansey, Calderwood, Yeaman, Hall, Raynor, T. Briscoe, Tuffour, J. Briscoe and maybe Lyne plus Turner and Whiting can fill in.

We need back up for Long. Just a young kid who can do the basics, kicking game etc. Don't need anyone who'll take up a large portion of the cap. Gregg McNally would of been ideal before he went to Huddersfield.'"

Wouldn't like to think we had to rely on 3 really young kids just yet, plus Tom Briscoe is still developing into the player we all know he can be. So that leaves us with Raynor, Hall, Yeaman, Calderwood with 2 part time centres as cover.

gleeson would be a good move for us where top heavy with back rowers and a little light in the backs, wigan are the other way around so good move for both if true ,anyway if ticks is after leaving to go home is he really going to be at his best all year ,gleeson is a quality player and we might as well get a good player in for tickle now to make the balance of our squad right this season ,its fair to say we will get injuries so another exsperienced threequarter could be very useful ,hope this is true

Agree Gleeson for Tickle would be a good move for us but would be surprised if it happened.

I'd be more than happy with this TBH, don't think tickle will be first choice so we could have fitz and Manu 2nd row with washy lf. With Burnett and lauaki to rotate, not forgetting radford.
If it's a straight swap and gleeson would be on similar(ish) money, I'd rather have an international centre than another back rower in the squad.

Still don't see the logic in wigan swapping him though, after shelling out 100k just 6 months ago.

Cant see us sending you Gleeson for Tickle, as has been said, we only got Gleeson 6 months ago, and we're fairly ok for back rowers with

O'Loughlin
Mossop
Hansen
J Tomkins
Bailey (Apparantly getting 1 year extension)
Farrell
Plus Coley, McIlorum or Riddell can cover there easily

I'd be astonished TBH.

Still - it's been a while since we had the 'Gleeson to Hull' rumour. At one time it used to be almost as regular as the ones about Scully and Briers. icon_smile.gif

I agree, i can`t see anything in this Gleeson rumour, think we will sign a young player possibly a half back and that will complete our squad for next season.

There would have to be cash adjustment I guess, but its all highly unlikely I'm with the last poster young half back cover and thats it!

We can't really compain about our signings and the profile they are getting in one RL paper this morning we have more column inches than the finalists!!!
