These are great athletes but are made up of some real proffessionals and a lot of young lads and daft lads, Every club and their supporters know all sorts of stuff that should not be going on, goes on, the smoke without fire stuff circulates all the time ranging from fighting to drugs, to drinking to betting etc etc.

They would be better taking it all with a pinch of salt and getting on with it and moving on!

As for the media taking an interest well its the Daily Mail and perhaps no little children have dropped any litter in the City Centre of late!!! The nationals took it as it was and serialised it last week, they have moved on!

The media will forget about it soon enough. RL simply isn't sufficiently newsworthy and there are always bigger and better scandals cropping up to boost their circulations with.

The RFL's statement is pretty wishy-washy and may indicate that they'd rather make a token effort and let the whole thing die down quietly. The very last thing they'll want is for Long to actually turn up at Red Hall with a long list of names that they would then have to investigate and possibly charge, bringing far more negative publicity.

At the moment the only thing Long's in line for is a [ipossible[/i misconduct charge if he refuses to cooperate with any inquiry. If he backs down from his claims or simply states that he doesn't have firm evidence against any particular individuals then it's hard to see him getting more than a bollocking TBH.

Still - there is still a risk and it would have been a whole lot better if he'd just left one or two 'revelations' out of the book altogether.
