I'd be more inclined to let him go than Moa based on recent performances (and I don't mean for us to sign Dobson)

Get rid of Moa for Dobson? Are you serious?
I don't get all the hype surrounding Dobson. He's a decent SH and plays more games than he misses, but he's no world-beater.

I agree, Dobson is a decent player but I believe Moa could end up being a great player (Well when we get rid of Agar)

| I am sure Rovers will be given dispensation, I can't believe they would have done this without checking first. Also do people actually believe he would leave Rovers to come here?

| Not gone through all this thread so apols if already mentioned but won't Mason be here on a Work Permit based on his New Zealand/Australian Passport which the Rugby League have accepted. When he gets his Tongan passport he will then have to apply for a new Work Permit based on that passport or the RL will not be able to register him as a KOLPAK player.

| The whole sorry episode is a shambles that the game as a whole could have done without. The sooner the RFL have concrete rules rather than jelly ones, the better.

I don't but there will be or perhaps already are a few vacancies for halves in Oz and it would be interesting to see what he'd do if an NRL club decided that they wanted him. Exchange rate , Cap , UK loopholes closed , weather , just going home , all would be persuasive factors. He's not exactly living in the South of France is he?

| Is it just me or does anyone else think that the whole Mason thing could be the undoing of all that is good at Rovers? Getting him in the country has caused nothing but problems but they needed him to help get their gates up. Now he's here all ive heard him do is bleat on about what he's gonna do and its all I, I, I and of course theres no I in team. Now theyve had to deregister their best and most influential player in order to get him on the field. Granted Dobson may be back soon but there's lots of twists and turns left in this story yet i think.

| I think the whole episode portrays Rovers in a poor light to be honest. Was it really worth all this hassle to get in a player who's had his best years? As you rightly point out Sebasteeno, all of this won't be doing the harmony at Craven Park any good.

| Depends on the outcome. If Mason rips it up , gates go up and Dobson gets resigned then the KR board will be vindicated and seen as creative , far sighted etc. If it doesn't work, Big Willie flops or gets injured and Dobbo runs off to Oz etc then it'll be a mess. Personally I think the RFL are bringing the game into disrepute aided and abetted by KR and it just looks like it could all go horribly wrong to me.

In all honesty, as much as I hate to say it, Warrington started this with the Jones signing.
Mason isn't all that, so we shall see.

I'm sure that was the plan. Events may well have overtaken both parties, however.

Not a chance. And in fact I'm sure that Dobson will have given assurances that he won't go anywhere. If his re-registration proves problematic, however, he might have to revise that position. Especially as another team who play in red and white might be in a position to make an attractive offer.

I wouldn't make room for Dobson. Yeah he is a very good player and if we had a quota spot I think we would be stupid not to go for him but I believe we should show respect to current players with contracts and not just sling them out and make way for other players.

I think he's more than decent. Look what has happened to Rovers without him.
He has an excellent fitness record - this is the first significant injury he has had.
I would sign him because he's a damn good half back and because how it would p!ss off the Dobbins fans (payback for Cooke plus interest ) but its not going to happen.
