I was told 6/8 weeks ago a deal was agreed with Bateman, he wants to come and we have offered him a very good three year deal. However his heart is with Bradford and I always assumed they would find a way to keep him but, they have limited funds to spend and he may not be able to say no to our offer.

If he came I think Tickle would go to Widnes.

It hasn't taken long for the moaners to get back up to speed. Perhaps they should simply watch Queensland if they want a team full of superstars.

Well good for you, if your happy watching a team of 'also rans' next season that's fine but I think we've had enough of that and I want to see some silver-wear.

It's not about being moaners or even expecting a team of Superstars, it's being realistic and I think we have a good squad with strength in depth but it needs adding to and AP has set the fans up to expect this (after announcing Ellis) and hasn't delivered.

TBH I agree with what you say about AP, he has been very vocal especially his last outburst about spending what it takes top 4 h/backs etc. I do not doubt that AP will spend what it takes however my concerns are why are we not getting targets, & retaining players we should retain, Bomber told us after we signed Ellis agents were banging the door down!! I am starting to think they are banging the door down to get out of the room with him cos he talks shiite!

The attitude of some fans is appalling. Do we need a SH yes, AP knows this and thought we had chase sorted. He has improved us massively so far and delivered some quality players and a top coach. Yet fans still are not happy.

Why is it appalling ? the spin coming out of the club is no better than the last regime. Regarding bringing quality in so far the only real quality for me is Ellis & Holdsworth, we have lost more quality than we have gained so far imo, we only had 2 players make the International side and 1 of those is Ellis. The fans were told we would spend to make us a challenging side and it now appears we are relying on a get out clause so that Aspinwall does not go to Leigh! who fecked that one up then ?

Perhaps AP has realised it is not worth shelling out any cash now he realises he is no way gunna sell the passes he was expecting. The silence from the him over the last few weeks is deafening, not being in the media at all.

The fact that we are still thinking about keeping Aspinwall and Mcgoldrick worries me.

Both did a decent job, but are not the type of players to take us to the next level, there places (as squad players) should be taken by young players like Kent and Shaul.

I still have lots of faith in Gentle (more than anyone) to bring us the right type of players we need to push on.

Aspinwall would be a fantastic squad player to keep, im with Paul M ffs people moaning because this hasn't come off , or he hasn't come in, rome wasn't built overnight, ther club have moved heaven and earth to make chase happen, and it hasn been outside of our hands that will stop us from getting him

AP has invested heavily in all sorts of other areas off the pitch, in rehab,academy,coaching,young wilson to aussie which cost the club around 30k to send,transfer fees for watts,pitts etc

Or we can go back yo the old regime with the constant penny pinching, and lies like oh we payed a fee for westerman, but by the way we won't tell the fans we haven't spent full cap this year thats were the trsansfer fee come from
