| K-Diddy:
The rumour going round is that he didn’t see the light. He’s supposed to have found out he’s unemployed at the same time as everybody else.
A couple of journos on X "confirming" this too. Another director (Kurt Graver) gone as well according to John Davidson

Chris Irwin has resigned from Salford. They've had it
Sad for the fans but that club has had enough chances now, it isn't a viable business. If results get called null and void do we climb the table? As most have beaten them but we haven't played them yet.

Sad for the fans but that club has had enough chances now, it isn't a viable business. If results get called null and void do we climb the table? As most have beaten them but we haven't played them yet. The problem with voiding all existing Salford results is that half the teams would then miss out on points, the teams who have played them as loop fixtures. So to use Rovers as an example, they played a loop fixture against Salford on 27th February and won 2 points. That same weekend we played Huddersfield and won 2 points. If you void Rovers win against Salford, that's 2 league points they've missed out on, in a weekend when us (and a few other teams) had points available to win. At the minute we (along with a few others) are missing out because we are only playing them twice rather than 3 times. If all Salford results get voided then it's all the teams who played them in a loop fixture who misses out, as they then finish the season with 1 less result available to them. They have really caused a huge mess and imbalance to the league, but if it weren't for the stupid loop fixtures then it would be a lot more manageable situation.

| If Salford were to be expelled from the competition and their results so far erased, would we be into a situation where points percentage would need to be employed as five teams will end up playing 24 games with the remaining six clubs playing 25.
The other alternative is for everyone to receive a bye weekend and granted a 30-0 win. But would that then give the likes of Saints (with an 82-0 win already on their tally) a slight advantage in regards to points difference.
I suspect the authorities will try everything to ensure Salford fulfil their fixtures one way or another even if it results in some farcical and embarrassing score lines.
It never ceases to amaze me how the sport of Rugby league has an ability to manufacture problems for itself and make itself look a joke outfit!

| I think the easiest thing would be to give every team the 2 points for every game they haven't played against Salford yet and remove all of the for and against for Salford games. No real other way to do it fairly IMO.
Hopefully it won't come to that and they survive.
It's also worth pointing out that despite all of their issues, losing players etc., they're still not as bad as we were last season

| Thought the default for an unfulfilled game a 48-0 win. Could just award all that to all the remaining Salford games.
Saying that, for their fans and players sake, I hope Salford don’t fold.

I noticed earlier this week that Salford football club have a new consortium in charge, fronted by two high profile ex-MU players. It's a pity they don't have a side interest in RL, that would be a convenient way out of this mess for all concerned. Unless some unexpected knight in shining armour comes to their rescue over the next few months I can see bankruptcy or liquidation as the only means of concluding the matter. Desperately worrying times for any Salford supporter and a terrible look for the sport as a whole.

| For anyone who is in doubt about how serious this is
Now SunSport can reveal they are said to owe payday loan firms a staggering £1.1 million, with £900,000 alone to Oldham-based WeDo Finance. On top of that, HMRC are £500,000 short – which is most likely to see action – and the Rugby Football League a similar sum. Then there are operating costs as well, pushing the total to somewhere between £2.5 million and £3 million.
SunSport has learned two parties are interested in Salford, NRL side Sydney Roosters and one UK-based group.
A payday loan firm ??????????????? nightmare!

If thats true its total madness and payday loan companies are pretty much nothing more than loan sharks loosely operating in a legal framework.
