Not sure how we could ever satisfy you B. I think I understand most of the recruitment, given what’s available. It depends on Custs and Abdulls fitness as to how happy I am with them. If Hardaker hasn’t regressed I’m ok with him though I would have liked another quality centre. Clearly we are nurturing the youth which as Sts and Wigan have shown is the blueprint for success. Shame we can’t recruit a Field or French though. It’s going to be a fascinating 2025 and I think we should all look forward to it with open minds

Well Leigh are using his photo on promotions for their pre-match fanzone tomorrow. Which is obviously what they'd do if he was about to announce he's leaving to sign for the team they are playing against.

We're in a very similar position now to where we were this time last year, last year we were in year 2 of uncle Tony's rebuild, people were optimistic about who we'd signed and said we had to use the last two quota spots effectively and we didn't, a few top targets tuned us down and we got Okunbor and Brown, hoping it's not the same for next season with our top two targets in lam and sailor saying no thanks

| Let’s just trust in the club. They are slowly getting things together and building. Much better building blocks than last year.

| I'll trust the results next season. Time has taught me that this is the only real indicator of progress and success. 'The Club' has made a right show of things in the last five years or so and as much as I will always be grateful to Adam Pearson for taking the club on, there hasn't been much success. Eternal optimism is for the young and inexperienced.
These days I tend to prepare for the worst to minimise the disappointment that is almost certain to come. I will of course be overjoyed if I am proven wrong, for despite my lack of optimism or confidence I still love my club.

I don't buy this. I see us binning players off but I don't see a significant overall upgrade in quality. The only improvement is that our younger players have gained valuable experience as a result of awful recruitment and endless injuries.

As a cynic that's pretty difficult after what's gone on over the last few years.

Surely the likes of cust, Abdul, hardaker, borough and Chamberlain are getting you excited for the new season?

Let’s be honest without the ‘teaser’ of the supposed investment had we made these signings under AP and Clark people would be absolutely losing their minds. There’s no particularly bad players in who we’ve signed but I don’t think it’s out of order to say mostly journeyman and as poor as we are at the minute a few journeyman additions isn’t going to cut it.
This can all be put to bed with a couple of really top drawer signings but there’s nobody screaming out now we’ve missed out on our major targets. If there is decent money available I’m sure we’ll get there in the end with someone, hoping it’s sooner rather then later before what little optimism we’ve managed to claw back since April time is lost all together.

| I think people need to realise where we are as a club and that will tell you why weve signed what weve signed. We was never going to get top signings, anyone who thought otherwise is living in dreamland.
The only thing this club as going for it at the moment is its attendances and half the players out there think we are a toxic fan base.
This will take seasons, overpriced and over lengthed contracts to get players to come to this club. Let the club deal with that and lets just try to get behind them.
Until we see the club starting to climb up the table, some positivity round the place then we will always miss out on good players.

cartoons/WB17.gif I've been on the internet and have already got a sense of the fans' passion for the club. They are very fanatical - Peter Gentle 12th September 2011.
Money doesn't talk it swears, Obscenity who really cares, Propaganda all is phony.
I'm the son and heir of a shyness which is criminally vulgar.
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way.

As things stand, I think the 2025 squad is an improvement on what we currently have, but then it could hardly get much worse given the state we are in!!
But the improvement is only (very) marginal and no where near enough to make a significant difference to our prospects for next season, unless Cartwright turns out to have the Midas touch when he arrives here
A team largely made up of bottom-four average players will most likely find itself scrabbling around the bottom-four and I think that may be our fate once again, unfortunately.
Rome wasn't built in a day, as someone once said, and our rebuild is going to take time. We have a lot of mistakes to rectify and we supporters are going to need a degree of patience before we start to see some genuine green-shoots coming through. This is a long-haul back to where we all want to be.

It’s a vicious circle though, without some major event creating a lot of optimism (big signings, announcement of investment/change in ownership, great season ticket deals) I can see us down to 6-7K absolute max crowds next season, so many people are just not going to bother with it. Even if we do stabilise things on the field and climb up the table very slightly at that point we then won’t have the revenues to afford better players.

It doesnt effect the likes of Salford.
I dont think the crowds will dwindle too much either, 30 quid to get in and playing in 11th still sees crowds around 10k mark. If the boo boys go home that could be what the club needs.
You look at KR players they had now finished bottom with them and its only since theyve turned into internationals theyve attracted better players.
I more then anyone would want us to announce some top line signings but given the position we are in and the negetivity in the stands I cant see it happening until those things change. Having young kids who hurt the same as we do is the way forward but they cant play everyweek.
I know Cust isnt the greatest half back out there but he in my opinion would provide better cover then Charles and morgan smith for next year at least.
Weve got to build and it has to be small blocks at a time. When we won the cup we never struggled for a signing and im sure we will get there again.
Cartwright I believe will be an astute head coach of a signing who will raise the intensity of training and what it means to get a matchday jersey. While the young kids have being great it hasnt being difficult for them to surpass the former players in the team and that in itself can be a dangerous cycle.
When you like at Robertson at Saints he has to surpass Welsby and now Sailor. Where as Moy only had to do it to Hoy and Walker, completely differerent ball game. I think the signings we made will make us slightly more competitive and have more leaders in the group. That said I wont be booking any final tickets!
