Maybe, I thought about those, probably slightly disappointed, same with Fash.
Obviously we can afford to get rid of replace all of these, but moving on 3/4 would help, hioefully thr newly promoted side will be looking for established SL players.
If we could offload Sneyd, Fonua, Reynolds and Johnstone it would give us another quota spot and a high amount of salary cap.
If we had money, I'd try and sign Pryce and give him the number 6 jersey sign an overseas 7.

It's been tough for him, I imagine. The country went into lockdown the day he arrived. He came without his partner and because of restrictions his family and friends have been unable to visit. Injured in his second game, came down with Covid and now a injury that could rule him out until the start of next season.
I hope he returns and has a big second year but I wouldn't be too surprised if he goes. Only problem is who would we replace him with?

I never understand the notion that owners should take responsibility for the squad. I highly doubt any/many owners in the league actually scout players and personally decide how many more years their current players extend for without lengthy discussions with their coaching team. AP is the boss and pays the wages, he shouldn’t have any blame for the squad.
Besides, what would AP ‘taking responsibility’ actually look like? Saying sorry he extended some contracts?!
RE Reynolds, I do hope he has some more consistency of game time next season. He has a real unorthodox style of play and offers something only Connor offers for us - unpredictability. I expected more from him, but like others have alluded, he has had it rough. Would be a real shame if he left/retired IMO.
I really don’t see us making any huge changes next year I’m afraid.

Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?: |
|
| We had a strong squad at the start of the season, top 4 touted by most, but when we slip out of the playoffs someone (anyone will do) has to take the blame.

Half the team have been to blame for a lot of people calling for the team to be ‘dismantled’!
Also, hardly slip out of play offs - but I get your point.

It's what's known in the trade as "the club culture".

He signs the cheques. I get that he will have a smaller role than some in the contract negotiation and scouting process, but he still has a role. He employs the people to make the decisions.
Between AP, Radford and Clarke someone has stuffed up.

| My opinion is that the club in its present form is pretty much done and it could end up going bankrupt. Season tickets were already down and will be down even further next season. Add in Covid, the SMC lease agreement. Sky income down, merchandise sales will almost definitely be down and there's no way out of it.
The teams a mess, All the players we need to move on have got atleast another year on their contracts so were stuck - performances will stagnate even further and more fans will drift away
Pearsons hearts in the right place but hes not a rich man and cant bankroll the club and with no sign of any other backers i can see us going into administration and dropping down a league, perhaps leaving the KC and then rebuild or even 'merge' with KR though with Hudgell coming back in and them pretty much owning their own ground (yes i know they dont actually but with the peppercorn rent and long lease to HCC they basically do) i think they can ride things out much better than us

Buck lies with Radford.

Just to correct you Rovers really DO own the leasehold of Craven Park the acquisition was one of the first acts Neil Hudgell made on becoming owner which is why the club made a handsome profit from last might's Tom Jones concert and any other event held at the stadium.
Better still within a few short weeks Rovers will acquire the freehold not only of Craven Park but of a large surrounding area which is going to be a real game changer for the club. Meanwhile you are nothing more than tenants at MKM and at a huge cost..
Pearson warned you even before COVID that your levels of spending were unsustainable. I'm going to predict that Jake Connor will be sold to the highest bidder before the end of his contract.

I honestly believe Pearson is smoke screening alot of it, trying to entice fans to keep up with memberships and for new investors to come forward. He knows City alone cant run the MKM thats why he has the threats to leave IMO. There is no denying he is stripping back costs, that is happening everywhetr and not just in sport. At no point though has he said he is selling the club or looking to walk away, like a certain chairman we know.
Id be happy to strip the playing staff back and go with some young guns, half these lot aint worth the salary they are paid anyway. Its not as if players are not being paid or the rent at the stadium. We arent as strong pre covid but are far away from bankruptcy, as certain red and whites hope for.
