Quote: The Dentist Wilf "For heavens sake some FC fans on here beggar belief, I don't think some of you lot want us to win. As for the odd Warrington fan, well just get over it, if you think that reputation alone gets you home then think again.
It was a massive victory against all odds both on the game and indeed before it. I say it and risk being shot down, but with around 8 or 9 out today our game plan devised buy Radford and his staff was first class, but more importantly our focus was spot on, everyone carried the plan out to the letter and some of the effort when our backs were to the wall in the second half was nothing short of super human. Some of their big guys were shaking their heads at the hits they received from much smaller guys, who had bigger hearts.
That is the sort of performance our club has for decades been built on it was like Hull v Leeds in the 70's (those who were there will know just what I mean) . For heavens sake give credit where credit is due, we are joint third because the passion and the wanting to win for us was there. That was all we could have asked for. Whatever happens next week or the week after lets commend the lads for as solid a performance as we have seen for months and for a few hours at least enjoy it!
Lets face it we could be a lot worse off; we could be joint bottom!!'"
There's a claim kicking around from some that they "praise and criticise in equal measure". The reality is some are all over this board like a rash following a defeat, but virtually silent after a win other than to make a token acknowledgement of the 2 points and deflect immediately onto the possibility of future losses. It's a baffling mentality. We've just won away at the 2nd placed side despite us having a raft of injuries. The media in attendance tweeting: "Outstanding defensive display from Hull. Won't see many better anywhere this season. Terrific effort." In that context praise commensurate with that win should see huge commendation, post after post to match the bashing after a defeat. But it doesn't. As I said, baffling.
Anyway back to the game. Sounds like Ratu Naulago had another stormer, with Kelly "unplayable" at times. Hopefully a few of Tuimavave, Fariamo, Houghton, Bowden, Manu, Savelio, Lane, Litten etc back and Taylor not concussed.
