Its better to have an established Aussie coach in place who can also attract overseas players.

Stop appointing assistants and actually appoint a proper head coach and his team and we might find out

Haven't the last 8 major trophies have been won by:
McDermott - British 3
Radford - British 2
Wane - British 2
McNamara - British 1
I also don't think you get many "established Aussie coaches" here if that's taken as current NRL head coaches and for those that come, more fail than succeed (obviously, only 2 major trophies up for grabs and 12 coaches ).

The other point to note is the relative cost of these established NRL coaches and their backroom teams. The NRL has had to impose a cap on spend on football departments- excluding player salaries; the average club spend is 6.3 million Aus dollars or £3.4m. Little wonder we see so few genuine top current Aussie coaches here. Craig Bellamy for example is on $1.7m p.a.

Obviously you can dip into the assistant / out of work ex coaching pool. Again, sometimes this works and if it does they're off back to Aus pretty quickly. More often it doesn't, obviously. Not to say it's a bad idea, just pointing out that making the generalisation that this would guarantee improvement is flawed.

Sharpe got us to Old Trafford. I know it’s not a tick in the win box.

We know how well that went!
Any appointment should be ability, not nationality, based. (in my view)

Five of the bottom six have a head coach from Down Under.

| Given some of Hulls results over the past 12 months it's fairly obvious that Radfords position will be under scrutiny. Same with Sheen's across the river.
Worth noting though that on the Forty 20 live podcast last night, a journalist claimed/stated that a big off field story is about to break at Hull FC that will be having a destabilising effect.
In short, we don't always know the circumstances that a coach is working under. Best to maybe cut a bit of slack until the news emerges.

I think 90% of the forum have deduced there’s problems behind the scenes, the problem is without club information, rumours run rife.
