It has, but for some reason the floodlights haven't been working as effectively as they should. Think I read something about needing adjusting but can't be done until the ground is dry enough for the cherry picker to be used, but I might be wrong.

| beeb will pick cas v saints, no questions there, i think they will either go for toronto wolfpack v wire or kr v wigan
sky will no doubt pick up their favs, widnes and leeds, they may go for our game too as they may see it as a potential upset

Word on the street in Fev seems to be that it's going to be the Thursday night game.

And I was expecting an away day in darkest Wigan or Headingley, so pleased with the Fev draw, is there any chance of a switch venues to boost the Fev coffers, or will they fancy doing us “again” in the old tin pot.'"
At ours it'd be maybe 8k IMHO (based on last few seasons early round games) so I think Fev will want home advantage plus I wouldn't be surprised to see 6/7k at theirs anyway so not much different in ticket slaes plus food/drink money so I don't think there's a financial advantage for Fev to give up the home tie.

Any pictures of a Hull FC fullback who went to you in 1950 after 18 years at Hull and became an inductee in your Hall of Fame? Saw him play for you at Wembley in 1952 in your narrow CC loss to Workington. He was a prolific drop kicker and I have seen him kick one from his own 25 yard line. Clue to his name is in the post!
I saw Vince Farrar when he came out here in 1974 and played for Cronulla for a short spell as a prop. Was dubbed 'Persil' 2 by some Cronulla supporters because of the whiteness of his legs.' Persil' 1 was Tommy Bishop who came with Cliff Watson a few years earlier to play for Cronulla.

The gate mentioned in Mark's blog is still there, albeit incorporated into a newer building.
There might not be a picture of Freddie in the clubhouse (am not sure) because the club recently had a new vote on which "Legends" fans wanted to see commemorated and sadly, as is invariably the case in these polls, older players tended to lose out in the poll as most fans aren't old enough to remember them.

Many thanks for the blog on Freddie. My parents knew him when I was born and they ran a pub in old Hull in the thirties. My mum told me he baby sat me a few times and he became an instant favourite FC player when, aged 8, I was taken to see him play.

| Good trip is Fev, done it last couple of times following KR. That new stand behind the sticks which holds the away fans now is decent ( lack of bar facilities is annoying ) we were walking round to the main stand, grabbing a beer then coming back.
Couple of pubs on the main road behind that stand as well, can't remember the names now like but one has a good space in the back, hope the suns out.
Definitley a better ground now then cas or wakey, put's there progress to shame really.

Fair point, would Fev not come under the same council jurisdiction mind? I literally have no idea if they do but would not be surprised if so

As it's the CC, the BBC have first dibs so we're waiting on them.
They'll announce the televised games after this short break to listen to Billy Ocean.......
