It is relevant because Miller is on a long-term contract, which makes it difficult if and when a better option becomes available. In other words it would be better to keep your powder dry.
The key to success under the salary cap is 1) spending it in the right areas of the team, and 2) ensuring that players - whether paid low or high - provide good value for money.
For me, and I hope to be proved wrong, Miller looks to be a good example of where we have been going wrong for years.
