I'll add you to the 'No idea why they didn't stand up as well' group.

| Very, very interesting insights from Pearson at the forum tonight. Very wary of Hetherington and his tactics pretty much as was alluded to earlier in the thread. Cannot understand how the RFL pumped money into Wakey then miraculously Kath was 'parachuted down' onto Wakey's board even though they don't own the club, together with her second vote at RFL meetings. Also claimed the Widnes vote had been annexed due to one Jimmy Rule.
Didn't like the tactics on Wednesday after the SL clubs has received written reassurances that the new structure would not be discussed until after the WC. The RFL reneged on that on Wednesday, and the inference was that the Heths had influenced that decision. St Helens were not present at the meeting (explains that one) and Bradford are currently unable to vote, so seemingly it would have been a good time to try to push the decision through. The rebellious six weren't having such an outrageous coup and walked out.
Pearson has great admiration for the owners of Saints, Wire and Wigan. Not so much for Koucash (who's thick with Hudge) and doesn't care for the politics and interference in RFL matters of Hetherington, although he greatly admires the structure and management in place at Leeds and is, in fact, trying to ape the models of Leeds and Wigan.

| Good summary - I smelt a rat when it was described as a regular monthly meeting - probably why Saints were missing, especially as the vote was never even on the agenda.

Well done mr Pearson then , but anything with the smell of the Hetheringtons should be blocked as soon as it rears its head.

| Can see the point of no relegation taking the intensity away from league games at the bottom end of the table, but the play off system itself does that for me at the top the table. This year for example for a good month Wigan were able to rest key players for the cup and after it, knowing they could still win both big prizes regardless, possibly sacrificing the LLS. Leeds seem to like to try and win from as far away as possible, and although they played some great stuff consistently, Hudds we're not the the best side in the league as proven by the playoffs despite finishing first, and I reckon had it been first past the post the table ladder would have been different.
I'm not saying scrap the play off system, the game can't afford that, but the clamour for relegation to create an intense cut throat league like footballs PL is pointless, because the system is set up so that the weekly rounds are largely irrelevant anyway, even more so with a top 8.

Maybe that's why he's chummy with Nigel Wood, getting tips.

| Am I right in thinking that Bradford change of ownership is still to be ratified by the RFL? If so how can any vote have taken place until all 14 current teams in SL were present and valid?
Sounds more and more as though the RFL and Hetheringtons crew have tried to push their plans through with no regard and not willing to listen o the remaining clubs. Seems it was a majority that were present that walked out too

Hmmm, plus they are highly unlikely to speak out while the RFL are their landlords plus Cas will not want to rock the boat due to their position regarding SL licensing and their current ground etc. With the Hetherington Triangle covering Leeds, Wakey & Widnes its gets even worse.

| Thats the implication although it was intimated last night that Cas may not have been there and Saints who were reported to have changed sides, didn't even attend! It appears the meeting was a regular Super League post season de-brief that was high jack by the RL to try and force a vote when everyone thought it had been agreed that we would wait until after the world cup. It was almost made apparent too that Wakey got financial aid from the RL to stop them folding a few weeks back and that the RL then suggest Kath go in as a consultant although I might be seeing more into that than is there.

To be honest Wilf I think you are seeing things as the Super 6 have seen it and have taken the only course of action left to them.

That's how I understood it. No Cas or Saints there and GH just tried to steamroller the changes through on the majority vote.
Interesting how KH suddenly appeared to be in charge at Wakefield as well.
It was a very interesting forum.
