I say yes. Would Shaul , Lineham, Crooks,Green etc have been given a chance under those two?

| OMG - is anyone SERIOUSLY we aren't better off with Pearson than with Hetherington ??
The off-field improvements make us a credible club which is serious about it's future, and you cannot turn years of under-investment round in 2 seasons.
I have aspirations to be like Leeds (or Wigan), who bring through quality young players without having to buy ARL has-beens, but that doesn't happen overnight.
No way would I swap !

Really? I think you'll find they celebrated when scoring against Wigan on Easter Monday, when they lost by the odd try in 23!

If you see Radders as Head Coach well that sums you up really - Dumb Rugby Rules OK.

| Quote: TommysDad "People who are on PG's back are not looking st the bigger picture, they are just seeing the results which I agree at times have been poor. For start the half back pairing's have been chopped and changed so many times through injury and it's only until recently when Millar arrived have we seen a more settled pair and that's only a few games. Ellis out for a good wedge of the early season and now Lineham and Ben Crooks. Our out and out full back is out for the season also and still people think the side can perform miracles. AP has brought the club back into the limelight and an appearance in the final emphasise that. Sure we blew it big style and I'm gutted like everyone else but AP will stick with PG as he too can see the bigger picture and hopefully back him with some quality signings like he has mentioned. Onwards and upwards!'"
Well said the best post I have read in ages some people on here need to give their head a bang.

Really? I'm sure people were saying the same about paul Anderson and shaun wane. I'd back my knowledge of the game over yours any day bud

| Quote: Mrs Barista "Interesting times.
Question is now whether AP sees Gentle as the coach to take us to the next level and is patient whilst the pipeline bears fruit. Our lack of basic attacking structure has not been dealt with, this is the biggest concern for me, however defensively robust we are. There don't appear to be many compelling alternatives coach-wise however.'"
Quote: Mrs Barista "I disagree. Countless examples in all sports of coaches who have come in and improved the play of a group of players'"
Totally agree with these two posts.
Pearson for mine has 3 options at the moment.
1, Stick with Gentle, add an attack coach to the coaching team.
2. Sign a game changing player (Chase?), & stick with Gentle.
3. Sack Gentle, bring in a PROVEN experienced Head Coach, who can mould a group of individuals, into a team (Only one I would consider is Brian Smith at this moment in time)
It doesnt take 2 seasons, to mould a group of individuals, to attack as a team.
The likes of Potter,Brown,Maguire & Paul Anderson,in their 1st season as coach, took their team from outside the 6, into the top 4.
More worrying, if the 1st team attacking structure, is being filtered down to the 19's & 16's.

Brian Smith is yesterday's man. His time has been and gone.

Adam Pearson's 4 option could be to bring in Steve McNamara as Head Coach, after the World Cup, with Radders as Assistant, Horney as Academy Coach and Andy Last as Director of Rugby

That's a really bad option for three reasons.
1. McNamara is a rubbish coach.
2. If we are going to change coach then after the World Cup is too late to prepare for next season.
3. Horne should be playing next season and not being distracted by coaching duties.

My opinion is, he isnt.
He is the best available,at this time.
Some of Smith's pupils are, Daniel Anderson,Tony Smith,Trent Robinson,Nathan Brown,Jason Taylor,Justin Morgan and Mick Potter.
Why go for the pupil, when you can have the teacher.
In my opinion,IF Gentle goes, we need someone who is proven & experienced, at building a solid structure & foundations for years to come, coupled with drilling basic core skills into existing players - this is not the time for another unproven Head Coach.

| For me the jury is still out on PG. However I would think he has been an instrumental figure in reorganising the club in terms of junior set up, training facilities etc with SM & AP.
We were always going to playing catch up and will do for a few years yet until we have an academy that is churning out the first team players like Leeds, Wigan, Saints. Plus it appears that the same structures are now in place throughout the club set up so players can move up much easier and slot in.
Will getting rid of PG put us in a better position? Not sure it will to be honest.
Looking at the season as whole so far we started poorly, lost Ellis & Holdsworth the 2 marquee signings for a considerable length of time. Then lost Horne who had rolled back the years, brought in a very inexperienced HB in Miller who has shown he will be a good addition and was thrown in due to necessity. The loss of Manu & Moa and the lack of equivalent replacements for them has also been evident this season.
What will be a vital issue is who we bring in this close season as unless the players are genuine quality in the forwards we will really be found wanting next season.
The player recruitment this off season is more important than ever with us losing O'Meley, Briscoe, Galea and possibly Lynchy, as we still need to adequately replace Manu & Moa.
