The 'reality check' that's needed is for people who thought that Pearson and Gentle had some kind of magic wand that would put right years of underinvestment and poor recruitment in a single season. And folk who have written off the entire season after 5 games.

This season is a whole 5 games old. I guess I could have been uber pedantic and said "in one season and 5 games" but I figured most reasonable people would get my drift. How wrong I was. I can see now that 5 whole games makes all the difference.

Oh - and the last part of your quote above is once again making the assumption that because I don't share your opinion I must want the opposite. Good going - deny something at the beginning of the post and then do it at the end.

We are 9th and after 9 games we have a great idea !

History shows that in the VAST majority of cases the league position at 9th game can only be improved upon by 2 places at the most , up or down in fact. Check it out by going to Rd 9 tables as I have done and then look at League final table.

Let's say we win 2 then we will be on 10 points , one third of the way heading to 28-32 points ? ie finishing about 6-7th from approx 8th position.

IF we lose all 3 then bad news for 8th I suppose ? IF we win all 3 then of Course we should be aboput 6th and then looking at 4th at best ,the formula works in 90% , so the next 3 games are a big indicator

I think I will look at it when we've played everyone twice and see how we do. Already some shock results this season which have gone against the usual pattern.
