We stayed as a family at Canet Plage twice, the last time was about 20 years ago. the camp site I believe was called Mar Estang it was a nice site close to the beach, which is a lovely beach, also near a lake/river (cant remember for sure).
Its about half an hour from Perpignan which we visited a few times and enjoyed.
