Saw us play at London which should have been another so-called walkover on a small pitch - really cramped our style - literally. We were awful that day, and Wakey are used to their pitch.
Not saying it will be - it certainly [ishouldn't[/i be - but I take nothing for granted. As others have said, it will be tough anyway, and if we lose the plot early on who knows?

| Small pitch!? Belle vue is a full size pitch hence the number of hsmmerings we have had over the years! Hoping for a good game and as for the comments re the stand it tarts the ground up and makes it look much better we don't all have councils who pay millions for us a stadium. Come a week in Tuesday though we should have the go ahead from the govt to get on with plans for a new community stadium

Don't forget our pitch was vosted best pitch of 2010. Although I'd rather us have some silverware then that accolade .

| can i join this argument if i may and put a few facts straight, in reply to Standee's quote as saying wakefield wont be round much longer, not true i'm afraid as the newmarket developement will get the green light 100% sure of it, and too reply to some other comment that Wakefield only survived because of Crusaders demise, its simply not true as i know the team (not saying who but you would be very suprised) that was getting the chop 4 days before it was announced, Wakefield Trinity Wildcats are on the up and have a very bright future

| Be good to see the travelling support from you guys today hope its a cracking match with a Wakey win I have to say that!
There is a good possibility of breaking 10K today if the weather holds, if we do that will be great and in recent times we have only done this with Cas, Leeds and the Bulls.

15295.gif I'm still laughing at Cas!!!:15295.gif |

| Sunday morning and it's great to wake up to a my dads bigger than your dad comp!! Hull have a shiny new stadium thanks to the local council and a flotation of the communications company and a new coach who is doing slightly better than the last coach. Wakey are in a rebuild period and have a pending decision on a new stadium that is funded by a local building company and a few quid from the council. So potentially pretty even if the stadium gets built. Let's see who wins on the field eh and take it from there.

The only reason for anyone being stopped from going in the north stand will be it being full, which I expect it will be today. You're all more than welcome. Enjoy the trip and the game.

| Quote: Standee "Wakefield fans don't handle the truth very well mate, leave them to it, they wont be around much longer.'"
Est 1873. History would suggest otherwise. Why do some RL, indeed sports fans generally, seem to take such great pleasure in dragging down their rival clubs? You seem to me a minority though. Read some of the intelligent and more informed opinions of your fellow Hull posters. As it happens, I live in Beverley and have been in Hull and ER since 1984. I'll be text tennissing with my Hull mate and his Bro today, though I have a feeling he'll be texting me a bit more. I know all about Hull's history and all about ours. Both great clubs, both had bad times, both good. We've had awful luck with the people who chose to get involved with us; until now, I strongly suspect. Andrew Glover has achieved more in 2 years than all the rest in the other 40 years I have been attending, put together. BV still looks ramshackle, but it's a lot more functional now. It appears likely Newmarket will go ahead.
It's all 42 years overdue, but I think our luck is finally changing. Not that I suspect you give a t%$s about this from the tone of your posts. It looks like you would rather have a long trip to a cobbled together side in an empty football stadium in North Wales, than a Yorkshire tussle after a quick trip up the road, with 10k crammed into a little old ground with a good atmosphere. Good luck to you, with your attitudes you should go far.....

| I get the animosity towards Fubar, but what's with all the hating towards Wakey?
Again, like London, probably a close game when really we should walk over them with our squad.
