| I remember when Agar signed him a good friend of mine who played with Sharp at amateur level in the Bradford area said to me 'Will Sharp ain't good enough for a club like FC'. I ignored him at the time as I was happy we had signed a young british winger who was eager to impress at a bigger club.
Although he's one of my favourite players because of his big improvement this year and his all round effort/work rate (similar to Calderwood's enthusiasm when he played for us), there have been a few occasions where I think we can perhaps have better quality in that position for a slightly higher price - for instance I would prefer Jodie Broughton back if given the choice?
IMO Sharp has proved he's good enough for Super League though whether we offer him a deal or not.

He was 19 and has learnt from that experience. Your point is? Hodgson better than Briscoe?
I remember when Rovers had some decent trolls spending time on here

| Since when did people decide that Sharp was apparently 'FC's fastest player'? I've seen this mentioned a few times since the derby but hadn't read it before then.
Fwiw, I always considered Tom Briscoe as the fastest player in FC's first team (although I understand that Jack Briscoe and Tom Lineham are both very quick too, but as they haven't played in SL yet I can't compare).

I was disappointed he didn't have enough pace to catch Hodgson but not massively surprised. He doesn't possess out and out pace. Played well bringing the ball away during the previous 79 mins.'"
Finally some sense !

| Sharp had a cracking game and ws just caught a little flat footed. Hodgson is also quick and those first few yards made all the difference.

He had plenty of time to chase him down but knew that hodgson was pulling away from him and tried to ankle tap him so my point of him paceless is correct imo.
Turner was the guy who was the main culprit but at the end of the day it just looked really poor and sharp made hodgson look like usain bolt

No, he's far from incorrect. I'm quite happy to point out Sharp's strengths but it's idiotic to ignore his weaknesses. Sharp doesn't posses the pace of most other SL wingers, and almost never catches a man once he's past him. Also, I can't remember seeing Hodgson outpace anyone for the last 3 seasons, other than Sharp. I have however, seem loads of players track back and catch him.
Sharp has a tremendous attitude and his effort is second to none. He's also deceptively strong for a relatively small man. He is not particularly quick though, can be caught out of position and isn't particulary safe under a high ball compared to other wingers, although he's improved his catching this season.
I like Sharp because of his attitude, but personally believe Lineham would be the better option for the first team. There is no question marks over his pace, and he is also strong.
