| Reece really needs to go out on loan to a championship side to develop. The under 20's are not giving him enough of a challange for him to progress. a season playing full time at say featherstone or a similar team will allow him to gain much needed experience.

Sissie Welham is a coward.
Every player on that pitch knows that the coward had 2 choices on how to hit an obviously open opposition player who could not defend himself.
1. Wipe him out with the intent to cause as much damage as possible or
2. Simply wait and see if the falling opponent tries to get up and continue (he had caught the ball)
THE GUYS A W4NKER...as proven by his continuous childish displays.
Wounder if he gets an injury so he can't play against us in the SL match.

| if it had been a hull player on a rovers player we would all be saying how great it was...whelam timed it to perfection..... all this talk of wait till next time is rubbish.... if hull players were upset by the tackle they would have done something there and then.... we got beat whether it was 1st hitout... bad ref....windy day etc get over it!

Thanks, that settles a few questions.
First, the hit was nowhere near the head.
However the first point of contact could well have been with the elbow but it isn't clear and play on, unfortunately, was the correct decision.
What makes me laugh are the pathetic dobbins somehow claiming this a proof that Welham can now tackle. Because Lynne was essentially stationary and unable to protect himself he offered the ultimate free hit, which he paid for. Come the regular season when his targets are moving Welham will be back to his turnstile best and making another run at SL's leading missed tackle title.
As for Lynne, he will play this entire season as a teenager, an age when most players haven't even made their 1st team debuts - those "fans" writing him off are rather premature to say the least.

| This thread is madness
Welham is a good player he scores plenty, however his defense needs to improve and be consistent, he put a good hit on Lyne however one swallow does not make a summer!
He has to follow that kind of defense up against seasoned RL players!! if he can improve in defense he should be in line for an International call up.

| Lynne played in a dire team for pretty much all of his 1st team appearances, in fact his kick and chase at the death against Crusaders winning us the penalty (that Ticks knocked off to the anger of camel gob) when a draw would have been a disaster got us those 2 points.
Some people are just AS bad as Agar, giving up on a young lad when he's had bugger all chance to shine. Hope some of you are able to give your own kids more of a shot in their lives without farming them out at the mearest hint of non performance to another family in the hope they might 'improve'

So by your way of thinking, Lynne also had two choices, get out of the way or stand his ground. He stood his ground because he is a rugby league player, and although he came off worse, fair play to him. If you don't like this collision stuff, why don't you take your voice of reason and go watch golf or something. You are coming across as a bit of a tart to be honest.

Believe me when I say that 'there will be payback' coming to sissy welham.

I wish our players would show some aggressions towards the Rovers players.
I'm fed up of our players making things easy for them.
But they talk about it all week prior to a Derby and then don't deliver.

| So sissy timed his tackle to perfection.....DON'T MAKE ME LAUGH.
The only thing sissy timed to perfection was to go IN with his elbow with the sole intention to damage Lynne who was completely un protected.
He's a COWARD.
Like to see sissy pat Orgre on the head.....what a w4nker.

The penalty count was 11-4 as it was. Given the ref's propensity to penalise us, more aggression would likely just have meant more penalties and probably a heavier defeat.

Not many of them were for foul play and if the ref is determined to penalise us he will find any method to do so.
But a bit of aggression within the laws of the game would have made me feel a bit happier.

He had a third choice.. He should have jumped to catch it thus making Whelham give away a penalty and a probable sinbin if he proceeded with the tackle.
I'm a Hull fan and didn't think it was that bad, didnt see much of the elbow and it was timed perectly. If we aren't hitting the opposition (fairly) without trying to cause damage then we are doing something wrong. I mentioned this in another thread, saying our forwards were a bit "namby pamby". Someone posted a pic of O'Meley showing how big and nasty he looked. Paea stomped all over our forwards in the friendly.
Apparently in a report Aspinwall was smashing people in training and no one wanted to train with him. He lasted 2mins on Sunday before getting knocked the f*** out by Paea who hardly noticed Aspinwall trying to tackle him. Our training must be pretty "namby pamby".
