Seems grudgell sees himself as some modern day rugby league equivalent of robin hood. Wants to see clubs who spend over the cap giving an equal amount to the "poorer" clubs.
[i"Maybe clubs should be allowed to spend beyond the cap, but have to pay an equivalent amount by levy distributable between the other clubs."[/i

He's clueless, its already kept one player in the game so it's made a jot of difference. |

It's spoken like a chairman who a) Couldn't afford to spend up to full cap before and this will become even more evident now and b) Who doesn't have many English Elite players because of his idiotic, short-term recruitment view. |

I think that's exactly what it is, he and his club have exhausted every avenue to get as many overseas players in his squad and now his fear is that any clubs with a quota space available will be able to use this money to get a quota player. |
