| Quote: east hull FC fan "Your argument doesn't make sense, why would you go through uni to just accept £20k per year?
So now they shouldn't even get a loan from the government for their tuition fees? Maybe Ocean finance then eh? Silly argument.
Who mentioned anything about benefit cheats? I'm saying there's a lot of help available to low income families that aren't to students, to 'subsidise' them.
Oh and congratulations on never having claimed a benefit.'"
I'm not saying you would... But you could.. My point was that everything is paid for for you as you we're implying that students have it tough... Tuition is technically FREE until you are a higher earner so at this moment in time it costs them NOTHING..
There is NOTHING to 'subsidise' me if I can't afford to pay my outgoings and/or life choices.
I aren't saying that students shouldn't get loans, they're getting a free step up to a potentially better life.. I'm saying; they're adults, if they can't afford to buy a Hull FC season pass at the adult price then tough SH... Just the same as it would be for me...

Exactly, for some reason I've been brought into a uni fees debate!
If a student can't afford a season pass and can't find the time to have a job or actually find a job then some sacrifice have to be made.
Like I say everybody I know who went to uni had a job and in some very different circumstances.

Same... As I said in my first post. I didn't want to get into the ins and outs but i've allowed myself to get dragged in as my post was misinterpreted. I have no issue with students getting asistance with their education but to get EVERYTHING heavily discounted is just wrong to me. It's nothing to do with affordability, IMO !!!

But the point is that their potential to earn is far less as they're restricted by college/Uni timetables. So the club reflect this in their pricing.
Also the club wouldn't want to lose a fan from 16 as it would be difficult to get them back at 21 or older.
It's the clubs CHOICE to do this, not the students DEMANDING it.
Every single person who has argued against it has used so many cliches and stereotypes it shows a lot of misunderstanding, which leads to ignorance in some cases.

What exactly are you trying to tell me?
I don't care who the club subsidise, I don't care of the price of any ones season pass.
If they can't afford one they have to find more money by either earning more or cutting out other luxaries.
What's so difficult to understand?

You've changed your tune since you wrote 'I don't think they should get a discount'.
Now suddenly you don't care, why have you changed your mind?

But then you're punishing the majority who do need certain degrees.
And I hardly think repayable loans is 'throwing money at them'.

It is if there's no realistic chance of them ever getting a meaningful job which will give them the income to repay it.
There are far too many people at university for the real graduate calibre jobs available

| Quote: Marfa Manu "NHS is the 4th highest employer in the world..(Chinese Army, Indian Railway, Walmart are the ones above). Nurses have had to be University educated for several years most going to University to do a diploma, from 2015 nurses have to have a degree, answering your question how many grads go into health sector, if you take a University which has a health school (Hull for example) there will be approximatley 300 graduates studying nursing each cohort, no other degree course has anywhere near these figures, plus medical students find it difficult to find part-time work to subsidise their money as they spend 50% of their time on placement working long hours without pay.So I would say a very high percentage of grads go into healthcare.'"
Chinese petroleum
How many NHS are non graduates though??
And McDonalds arent far behind so id say there will be as many working at Asda and Maccy D's as there is become Doctors & Nurses

No I haven't, my opinion hasn't changed because I don't care, it doesn't affect me in the slightest.
But my full quote was
'I don't even think students 'should' get a discount but can see why they do.'
By that I don't see how their different to the sick or the active job seekers, but can see why they do for retention purposes.

The award for missing the point, goes to....
That's a first year after finishing your degree, people then go on to other professional qualifications. Ask Mrs. B if when she finished her training contract for her ACA/ACCA within 2 to 3 years of graduating if she was still on £23k. You'll probably find its closer to £40k.
How many Doctors or Solicitors do you know still on below £30k?
All but the last half a dozen of those are probably still higher than most people earn who decided to leave education at 16.
