I disagree, he is a big unit which when used in the right way can be devastating. I think if he was to get a bit fitter and some top coaching he could be a real weapon and I don't see many other alternatives.

I think what we've seen and what the fans of his former club saw is pretty much all he has to offer, certainly wouldn't be pleased if we did give him anything more than a year with a year option (and the option very much in our favour)

I think he could be better with better coaching, but would only want to keep him if there was absolutely no-one else available.

Totally agree...Good NRL coaches Madge & Brown love the aggressive style rugby, Hame will do very well under a coach like that, hopefully Gentle is of the same mold.

In two full seasons I have never once seen him be anywhere near devaststing. Also what about his weak defence? Don't think I have ever seen him put one shot on, whereas manu and moa do them every game. Waste of a quota spot for me and won't improve even at Wigan.

You've surprised me there Paul I know we all see things differently and have different opinions but I find myself usually agreeing with you but have to disagree here. In all the time he's been at Hull FC I can count on one hand how many time he's had good games and devastating would never be a word I would associate with him. I can think of the Saints away game and then I start to struggle.
Next year will be interesting and I'm looking forward to watching him if he does go to Wigan to see how he performs because I've heard your argument about him not been used correctly and him possibly performing better under a different coach from a few people now but my opinion is that regardless of the coach were just not going to see the performances from him that we all want on regular basis, for his size he should be dominating opposition that doesn't happen enough imo and he comes across lazy at times.

No, but hopefully we're getting one in the same mold. McGuire certainly seems to have clocked Lauaki as his type of player whether he's going or not, to leave as part of the inheritance for his successor.
