If Kath had introduced this survey, then made a decision a week before the survey ended there'd be hell to pay on here.
What about those that haven't got round to it yet as they thought they had more time?'"
It is odd that this has come out whilst the survey is still out there. Either way I don't see crowds changing much whether it's Friday/Sunday.

| This is great news , I think we could have lost a generation of young supporters if we had carried on with Friday nights , I for one will now start taking my daughter and wife to games as we didnt get in from night games untill 10.30 ! and that was just too late . WELL DONE Mr P.

| Since we changed to Friday nights reckon I have missed no more than about 5 or 6 home league fixtures.
The only home match I've missed this season was Quins (played on a Sunday afternoon).
Next season I can see me attending 5 or 6 home matches.
This decision is very bad news for me. The only consolation is that I'll save the money I would have spent on a pass and can pick and choose which matches I go to.

| Quote: chico's nose "Wow, I’m absolutely over the moon about this news. I understand that some people may be disappointed, but at least this time fans have had a genuine opportunity to feedback to the club which match days they prefer, unlike a few years ago when Kath and her crony’s moved from Sunday’s to Friday’s on the back of what a few corporate supporters wanted.
This move does mean that we are once again a “family club” as after a long school week my 8 year old son hardly ever wanted to attend on a cold Friday night.
As has already been mentioned, the argument about giving us a shorter turn around is b******s, as this has always taken place. We played Wakey away on a Sunday in June and then played Saints at home the following Friday, so home games on a Friday night worked against us in that instance. The only way this will ever be truly resolved is when the RL either get some common sense or grows a pair and dictate that all clubs play their home games on a Sunday afternoon every week other than the two televised games. This would then lead to an increase in viewing figures and potentially allow the RL to seek more money for the tv contract.'"
Good POst the RL should have 'had a pair' in the first place and said as with Football that there is a game day and that day is Sunday only exceptions will be for televised games. Then everyone would have known where they were, and the issue of FRidays would never have come about, Sundays have been happening at our club since 1968 and been RL policy since 1974. I feel for those who like FRdidays but they should have never ever been given the option, not by the club, who used the flexibilty they though to the common good, but by the RL, now whatever we do, we please some and alienate others. It should have always stayed as a Sunday!

I was always happy with Sundays when we played in the Winter but not Summer when there are so many other calls on your time.

| I just text my mate at Telegenic and asked him if he had heard anything about Fridays matches being exclusive to Sky. No he reckons that Sky are returning to Sundays nights that could be why the club asked about Sundays at 6 pm

Exactly Wilf ! What were all these fans "who can't make Sundays" doing for the last 5 decades?
It should never have come away from Sundays but as long as AP makes the correct decisions with the coach and the squad, the KC will be close to full on whatever day/night we play.
Give me a successful and entertaining Hull FC and I'll go to every match on a Monday morning if AP sees fit !!

| interesting reading everyones comments on this one ,tbh i dont think it makes real difference to our attendance if your a fan you will watch your team anytime ,there will always be 1500 or so peaple that will have work commitments either way weather it be friday or sunday ,many peaple work in retail now and have to work sundays so i dont think it will put attendances up ,i prefare sundays tbh i like a drink before the game and its more of afternoon out plus i like watching the other games on friday and sat live ,what will put the attendance up is a bit of hope for the new season and we will only get that with a new coach ,ive lost count of the peaple who have said that to me ,i hate to see anyone sacked but somtimes you have to say a coach has taken us as far as he can

| Quote: Old_Faithful_IAKW "Yes, I agree with the demographic of the grapevine fans been 'die hard' fans and returning the surveys quickly. Which to me suggests they're the wrong people to ask if you're going to survey only one set of supporters. Many of the people signed up to the grapevine would go watch Hull FC if they played at 3AM on a Thursday.
We switched to Friday nights in 2007. In 2006, despite coming off the back of a CC win and being in a huge winning streak, we only had an average attendance of 9,010. In 2007, after switching to Friday nights, we had an average attendance of around 10,000. Just don't understand this one at all
the great 13 game winning run, and playoff run in 2006 helped grow the crowds. Casual fans got lured in by the good form and good atmosphere (The Playoff tie with Bradford in 2006 is the best atmosphere we've had at the KC IMO) and decided to get a pass for 2007.
these extra fans then became regulars and stayed with the club despite some poor seasons. With the drop off only coming this year. Our form and sucess had more to do with the crowd growth than it did the game day.
also the other big factor in the clubs move to Friday's was that corporates preferred it, and it was difficult to re-schedule corporate tickets when games got moved for TV at last minute. However the corporate market has dipped massively in the recession, so they aren't a big factor anymore.
Personally I'm happy with either Friday or Sunday. If it doesn't work on Sunday's next season we could always have another vote.

John made that statement at a meeting

wigan and leeds don't appear to have lost a generation of supporters when they moved to friday nights so not sure why we would have.

| Hopefully with a new coach and a sucessfull team we will be on Sky a few times.
We may see a good third of our home matches on a Friday night.
I do wonder if the people who will not now be buying a season ticket ever bought one before the move to Fridays.

| I cant believe the people are against a Sunday. Ive been going since early 80s and a Sunday was fantastic. We have only been playing Fridays for 3 yrs. Does this mean you have only been a fan for 3 yrs and didnt go to any Sunday games before? Loyal fans will also remember Wednesday nights as well. That was only a 4 day turn over. Also wrapped up through the winter nights/days. I am all for it, bring back the old days. I didnt like Fridays but made the effort to get there somehow.
