| Quote: salthouse red "Why?, The fact Hull FC play at the KC stadium is irrelivent , Hull FC pay rent to play at the KC , the stadium does not belong to Hull FC .
Mr Allam and Hudge are great friends , one thing that is a bit suspect i suppose is Karl Turner is a massive Rovers fan .
On the upside if/when Mr Allam gets the KC stadium you get to play in a shiny new development , on the down side it leaves the potential for your club to get ripped of in terms of rent and agreements etc etc .'"
You really can't see why transferring ownership of the stadium that we have a lease on (we don't just pay rent) to someone with an investment in a rival club might be open to legal challenge when done by a group of councillors with links to that rival club?
Really?

Not as simple as that I'm afraid. Leaseholders have certain rights when ownership of the master lease changes hands.

| Quote: Kosh "The likelihood of him getting the KC has just reduced significantly IMO. How do you think it will look if people who have an investment in Rovers are allowed to buy the stadium their rivals play in by people who have been publicly schmoozed by those same rivals? It's got lengthy legal action and malpractice in public office suits written all over it.'"
Do you really think anyone cares what a few rugby league fans think? They'll flower up buying the KC by saying that this is investing in FC, by putting £1m in KR he's levelling the scales a bit.
Lets be honest if there was no investment we'd all be up the creek so maybe we're all being sceptical and a his heart is in the right place, he maybe wants use his money to leave a legacy, bit of self publicity and if he gets a PL side out of it he'll do that. Hopefully it'll be good for sport in Hull.

| Just a matter of a few weeks ago Allam was openly saying, on Radio Humberside, that he favoured a merged SL club in the city. He made it abundantly clear he couldn't be seen to be favouring either rugby team hence the merger being the only way forward to allow him to invest and "help out the rugby fans of Hull". In the blink of an eye he now seems to have abandoned those principles and has instead given some backing to Rovers. This should tell everyone who didn't already realise it exactly how trustworthy this guy is and what his word actually means. I tend to agree with Kosh that this makes it less likely that the KC will be sold any time soon, however the possibility of at least an attempt to stitch up our club has surely moved closer.
All this total and utter cr@p about "helping the citizens of Hull" and "putting something back" is nauseating to be honest.

Who said anything about a group of rugby fans? Or do you imagine that the BOD of FC will just roll over and let the club be destroyed? Not to mention the council's political rivals.
I'd personally rather that Allam invested nothing in RL in Hull. The man is bad news. His sole aim is to make more money and he doesn't care who gets trodden on while he does it.
And have you forgotten that your new best friend is in favour of merging FC and Rovers?

To be fair, retailers in East Hull will be benefiting from a massive increase in sock sales this morning.

True...now if he wanted to help in Eygpt maybe?
He is a ruthless business man who is driven by profit margins and control. He does not want Hull City because he is a passionate business man, he want to throw some money at city hopefully get them back in the premiership and sell them for a healthy proift to foreign investors.
He wants to merge FC & KR and create what he believes a team which will attract both sets of fans to the one match, hence profit margins.
He has never shown any interest in sport, in fact most people had never heard of him!

he isn't taking a seat on the board or shares, he will probably get a nice big sign up on one of the stands. I am sure your club will get some of his 'filthy' money as part of any buying of the KC.

He would be wasting his time with me I'm afraid, I'd probably go to Cas.

He's invested in the club. End of.
I honestly don't want one penny of his cash. I don't trust him as far as I could spit him into a strong headwind and I don't want him to have anything to do with my club. He's bad news.

Just had this conversation with colleagues this morning, 12 months ago no one knew who he was despite him being here since the 60's.

| I think as a club we need to release some kind of statement. Before today, there was just a lot of conjecture and headline making in the HDM. Today, with this investment, things have become very cloudy indeed

Isn't any business man who invests in sport in the same mould, look at people like Abramovich, Lerner even if you look at RL look no further than Moran I can't see him being a pussy cat businessman.
Is Kath interested in Hull FC, she's not from Hull, she never invested in Hull, her dream was to bring RL to the North East yet she dropped that as soon as it went to the wall and she saw an out.
The merger thing is a worry but unless he gets on the board of either club he can't direct that. I personally don;t think he'd have a leg to stand on 'booting' you out of the KC or that he would even try, no more than Whelan would with Wigan.
RL in this country drastically needs investment, maybe we're kicking the guy for no reason.
