To progress like we should then would be to finish above 6th and win at least one play-off game.

Quote: ICECREAMMAN "But there lies most of the issues, you and many others see finishing in the play offs as not good enough when all super league clubs see that as the pinicle of the season and anything after that is a bonus
we as a club do not have a given right to win silverware, yes it would be nice but in realistic terms were a bit off the pace for finals etc, but who knows where we will be in ten games thats the issue here...
at present a finish in the top 8 would do me just nice'"

I don't think we have a 'right' to silverware at all. What I do think is that a club of our size, with its fanbase and off the field set up, should be up there competing with the top 3 or 4 teams in the competition and be in with a [irealistic chance[/i of winning something. At the moment, we're nowhere near. And we won't be until we have a new coach.

If a top 8 finish would be 'just nice' for you, that's your prerogative. I feel we should be aiming higher.

Sorry maybe i miss wrote what I meant, as we are presently playing a top 8 would do me!!

So Wigan, Saints, Wire, Leeds, even Hudds and Rovers see finishing anywhere in the top 8 of a 12 team competition as reaching their pinnacle. That really is genuinely funny, good work!

we are already viewed as the Newcastle United of Rugby league and a graveyard to coaches so the old phrase "better the devil you know" springs to mind because right now with fan protests etc making the press i am sure few would want to coach in hull!!!

I did not think you mean that, it does not fit with your usual beliefs. Yeah I guess most fans would say right now they would take the 8 as we languishing bottom of the league (points deductions not included). I think we should be challenging for 4th like we did last season. I also think one win and we could go on a good run.

I do not think most fans will take 8 because we are at the bottom. Most fans are saying Agar Out so we have a chance of competing in this league.

Another good one! Because the sit in that Wire fans had to get rid of Cullen really prevented them from getting a decent replacement in didn't it?

Keep 'em coming, I needed this after yesterday icon_lol.gif

While I don't think Agars good enough I do worry who would replace him.

agreed, there is too much quality in the squad not too Paul!!!
I think we will struggle against Crux because everyone will struggle against them even in a win as they are a fairly well drilled side and now playing to the remit that Nobby laid out for them..
However i do think that we may just turn up at Wigan and give them a game because we are due one , another game under Hornes belt, Long should be back , Phelps should be online!!! could just give them a scare or two that will kick off our season....
