| Quote: Digby "Think you all need to lay off Agar and apply a bit of patience, taking an average team and making them competative takes years and years, even for quality coaches like Nathan Brown, who transformed Hudds in one season...
Maguire, who transformed Wigan in one off season...
Smith, won silverwear with perenial under-achivers, Wire, in one season....
Hang on, I've just defeated my own argument. As you were...'"
That's my argument on paper it's not a bad team / squad . Just think what a half decent coach would do with us . Our attacking play is so predictable and easy to defend against .

Nooooooooooooooooooooooo!
He's proved he can't coach in every job he's had apart from when he was in charge of Saints and I could have coached them!

I think that was in answer to the thread title, not a suggestion for Agar's replacement...
And for those calling for Noble: are you mad?
He's exactly the same as you've already got. Can get a bunch of talented players, but fail to get them playing as a team. Wigan's winning side last year was exactly the same as the year before, with the exception of Paul Deacon, yet look at the difference a proper coach made.

| I started somet similar to this after the Crusaders away game last year.
There was no sign of any coaching whatsoever. We played the worse 80 mins of rugby I'd seen in along time but the most depressing thing was his inability to change anything.
12 months on and guess what - same old story.
We have very good individual players at the club, get a decent coach in and we could be transformed.
He is out of his depth by a very long way.

| I have tried to sit on the fence over the Agar situation, but after last nights showing and the week before at Cardiff, its obvious that while he is in charge we will do NOTHING. no attack, no defence, no drive no passion, no commitment, new season, same coach same tactics same old

| Now then Guys & Gals
Just wanted to come on this bloody forum for the first time, not a regular visitor to this site but just got to an all time low last night watching the club that I have supported from being a three year old boy standing on an old milk create with my mum and dad at boulevard.
firstly would just bring to the attention of all Hull fans an incident in the game that identifies the technical fraeilties of the man who is coaching one of the top supported clubs in the league with the financial capacity to compete with the very best on a week to week basis.
before the season started it was reported that Sam Moa had trimmed down by so many kilo's to allow him to have more game time for longer spells, on 22 minutes he was introduced into the game to spell Mark o Mealy and at this part of the game Hull were 10-6 down for the further 8-10 minutes Hull were in the game and on the line at around 31 minutes when a offside decision from senior gave Hull a great opportunity to get level or possibly go into the lead when Sam Moa burst onto the Ball on the second tackle to only spill it over the line.
Instantly the SKY cameras went to the team coach and his reaction to this was Effff offff "Sammy" then in the next breath "get him off", he remained on the pitch for a further three minutes and on 34 minutes sure enough off Moa went and On come O mealy with 6 to go to the half, in this period from 34 to 40 minutes Hull went from 10-6 down to 20-6 down, which inevitably was the game in my opinion.
I could go in to even greater detail about more technical issues about the game but I think it would be good for all you Hull fans that recorded this on sky to look at this incident and say to yourself this is the difference between a good decision making coach and a poor decision making coach?????
on reflection of all of this some further pointers Danny tickle spilt 2 balls in the same manner during the game and was not spelled, so put yourself in Sam Moas shoes how would you feel seeing your coach criticise one player and react the remove you from the playing fireld and then sat in the dug out watching his team mates do exactly the same and not be criticised, hmmmmm i wonder...
Anyways I have had my rant and will never criticise the badge as that is bigger than any individual in the club either on the board or on the field but there has to be someone sat in the board that feels the same passion as what some of our fans do "hence Neil Hudgell,Phil Lowe rovers through and through"
food for though eahhhhhh....... so i beg you all to let your feelings known as it's us guys that can make changes.
FC till I die....

Well i'm at Heathrow about to fly out of the UK for 3 weeks going to a country with very tight control over their internet. I'm praying that when i return to the UK it's to celebrations of another 2 defeats and the dismissal of Agar!! (i know it's wrong to wish your team lose but i feel it's the only way to get the right coach)

I agree with that, let us be honest when it comes to wishing that on our own team it is sad time 'eh Dave
But if it is the only way well so be it.

The only nervousness i've got is that our board have a proven track record of taking the cheap option when replacing coaches. We're liable to dismiss Agar and bring in Jimmy Lowes or someone like that. We don't need a new coach that wants to develop into the role, that time has passed. We now need a proven successful NRL 1st grade coach who demands respect. Time to spend big on a coach.
