Where did he say that? You said the club were not listening, of course they listen. What they are not doing is what you and others want them to do. They are two different things.
People said last year that Agar had to make the top 8 or better still top 6 for Agar to keep his job and he did. So lets see how he goes this year before we crucify him. I think we need a new coach to take us to the next level but Agar earnt his shot for this season by how we did last time.

The 'Season of Promise' was supposed to be about having a much better year than the previous two and the team promising to reward the fans for their support. It was never about promising to win trophies in the sense that you seem to have taken it.

WTF?
Where did I say anything of the sort? Although while we're at it, I wouldn't presume to speak on the behalf of the 'majority' of fans.
You accuse the club of 'not listening'. What you actually mean is 'the club aren't sacking the coach even though I want them to'. These two things are not the same.

So what they actually meant was 'The Season of not being quite as e as the last two'? it's good a good ring to it
Obviously they weren't 'promising to win trophies', but they were saying that the season was 'promising' and encouraging expectation. I don't think an overall 7th place finish was anywhere near justification of such a marketing campaign.

Likewise, but with whinging and moaning instead!!
It was 'a season of promise' it promised improvements. Can you find me anything where it promised winning the grand final?? Though not!!

And no,I don't think me or anyone else thinks any one of those things. I think has a limited tactical approach which promotes basic, safety-first and unimaginative rugby. I also think his motivational skills are virtually zero.
It comes back to what you were saying earlier, there's no doubt he tries but the ability just isn't there.'"
So can you suggest to me exaclty what you want him to do and say?
What do other coaches do that Rich doesn't?

Fair enough, but I'm confident enough to say it's a fact that the majority of fans would sack Rich Agar if the decision was theirs, I'd put my house on it infact.
Obviously I can only base that on what I've read on here and my mates that support FC, but I haven't met one person who thinks he's the best man for the job, that's not to say there aren't plenty that will back him while he's there.

I'm gonna stick you on the 'ignore' thing pal, I enjoy a debate but you're just too 'basic' for me

And you're perfectly at liberty to feel that way. Others may not. The fact is, though, that anyone who thought last season would bring much more really wasn't paying attention. Coaching issues aside, the squad was never going to deliver a trophy.
BTW you seem to have a pretty odd idea of what marketing is all about.

Do you honestly think Rich Agar sits there on a matchday and says to his players 'Right lads, go out the and play as crap as you can. Don't worry about winning cos i don't care. In fact, i want the fans to hate me so please drop as many balls as possible'..
Agar got us to a final in 2008 remember and 6th place (which people were happy with pre 2010) in 2010, we did play better rugby last year and i am certain it will be better again this year!!'"
Well said

| Quote: PAUL M "If someone is unhappy with the rugby and does not want to renew their pass then fine. If people are wishing for a couple of thousand people to not renew to make a point then I think that's silly. How onearther we will find the players and coach to help us play attractive rugby with less money?
Each person should make their own choice on how they spend their time and money.
I have made the point about 10 times and won't be doing so again, I am completely bored by the whole negative vibe that some fans have, if you don't like it then don't watch.'"
I'm bored by some fan's happy-clappy vibe
The thing is, if pass sales fall because people don't like the rugby or because they specifically want Agar replaced then either way it sends a message to the board about the fans' opinion on the coach. We could argue all day about whether that's a good thing or not obviously, but that's what would have happened...

Fair enough, but can you just answer me on my point of what you actually want Agar to do? Not particularly aimed at you but all the coach bashers. I'm just asking for your opinion and to try to keep this a debate not a slanging match!!!

The point is the club shouldn't be implying it then, I seriously doubt the likes of Cas and Wakey were holding 'Season of Promise' dinners last year and we were no more likely to win anything than them.

I do it for my job and I'm not bad at it! I'm just saying that all the 'SOP' stuff no doubt played it's part in the record sales last year, but in the longer term it may have had the effective of making some fans lose interest through feeling let down.
