Sounds like it could be a win/win situation for us provided we get a decent half in return, we have cover in the centres although hooker cover is a bit sketchier. That said there is time for players like Turner and Washy to win a 20 minute bench spot spelling Houghton in the pre season.

if berro leaves then replacing him with a hooker/HB is a must in order to improve next season. I would prefer it if Berro stayed and we signed someone like Sammut

i can't see us going into 2011 with only one hooker, it would be a little crazy

however if berro did leave then it would imply briscoe would get more game time in the centres which i'd be in favour of. i've nothing against Turner & Whiting but i only see them getting games off the bench or if there are injuries in the backs

Why would his salary not be immediately available to spend on someone else ? Even if a lot of it was image rights payments those still come off the cap. Yes a new player might have to pay taxes on that money but its still available and he will not have been playing for peanuts.
