| Quote: Sheldon "if things go badly why would we need a director of rugby? a new coach would be more likely.
agar may already have his 'assitants' in place with fitzgibbon and long?'"
Now that's the kind of thing I like to hear; Fitz has a wealth of knowledge and experience to draw on, but most importantly he has a fantastic attitude, on and off the field.
There is a lot (most of) our home grown players can learn from him in regards of game preparation and professionalism.
Likewise Long for me will be [ithe[/i most attack minded player at the club and should be heavily involved in the way we play the game.

| Jon leaving is great news. Whilst I have nothing against him for the good of this rugby league club he needed to go. Now we just need to get rid of you know who and we can start the Revolution !!

| Loved him as a player, never wanted him here in any kind of coaching capacity. You can't doubt his passion for the club, but he just wasn't what we needed. His leaving is good news for us, although it gives me no pleasure to say it.

Talking about his role in the coaching set up.....couldnt fault him as a player and was a loyal player for us and was a good player for us.....as for his role in coaching set up,didnt work and sorry to say....glad he has gone.

Agree - lovley fella and a true black & white.
However, I didn't think he brought anything to Hull FC when he appeared in this role apart from confusion. I'm pleased that he has gone and we can leave it all to Agar now.
We need to play with confidence so that we can throw the ball around and not worry if we drop a pass or don't regather a short chip because we know we can rely on a solid defence. We couldn't stop a balloon this year if the opposition had a set of six in our half.

| Comments from Jon Sharp today, reading between the lines it sounds like there was a power struggle and he lost.
Quote: he said.
"It appears that I don't figure in Richard Agar's plans for next year," he said.
"I came to the club as an experienced head coach and I found the role of football operations manager really frustrating.
"I wasn't able to influence the team as much as I would have liked due to my role. I really missed the responsibility and the challenge.
"It confirmed to me that I am a head coach and that's what I would like to do."'"

Or he's claiming to not have been able to input things well enough leaving the blame for our poor performances solely with Agar. Funny he doesnt want to take any credit for our performances isnt it.

Theres been a power struggle since round 5, after the Bradford game when Agar went to the board/Rule and said he wanted to go it alone as he didn't like Sharp looking over his shoulder and having any input on the gameplan, tatics, research etc and look how it went downhill
If i was Agar i would have took all the help i can, put it this way the couple of players iv'e spoke to since it was announced you would be suprised at there reacation to Sharp leaving
