| Quote: Mrs Barista "A good and fair post from a member of group 2. The thing that hacks me off is the fact that group 1 claim they are the elite of our fanbase and are proving their superiority by witholding their support. Utter rubbish.'"
But then, the other group claim that they are the elite supporters because they are more loyal than the first group. And so it continues.
A little more tolerance on both sides, and slightly more measured responses to certain posts would be beneficial to the board as a whole, I reckon.

| Quote: Staffs FC "You see the thing is I'm not delighted. I know there are problems at the club mainly down to poor recruitment over a number of years. I know Agar has made selection and interchange errors this season and have said so. But I also know that with a gradual improvement of the playing staff which Agar has started (albeit they're not here) together with the 9 years we have guaranteed in the top flight the performances on the field will imporve.
Too many people on here believe that you have to have one extreme view or the other and no inbetween. It's pathetic in my view to continually slag everything that happens at the club even when it's not always bad. Thread after thread of garbage rumour and slagging. The other thing which many either cannot see or refuse to see is that the league is closer than it's ever been with teams beating other teams they didn't used to. This weekend is a pretty good example. So no team has a divine right to win but some people act on here like we have.
We have not played consistently well for sure since the GF defeat under Peter Sharp. Recruitment and retention has been dire, and we have had a very very poor run on injuries. But some of the fans on here are not the same type that we used to have in the 36 years I've been watching. Too much arm waving, insulting and slagging off these days. Sure our fans have always been quick to offer an opinion but I'm feeling now that some are a bit disappointed that we won tonight and a true Hull fan would never ever harbour a thought like that.'"

And they will improve things. But you and I both know that the players we do have available are underperforming and have been for weeks. Tonight was a small step in the right direction, but there's some way to go yet.

Well said.
Was the highlighted bit deliberate?

| Quote: Staffs FC "Read my post above. Some people, like me, can see good and bad at the club. Not just one side or the other. It's called being balanced.'"
I was generalising. Again, I think most people can see some good points and some bad. There are obviously a few exceptions. The point I was making was that, when things are as charged as they have been in recent weeks, there is a tendency to jump down the throat of other posters without just taking a moment to appreciate why they are posting as they are.

I know what you're saying but generally people who try to take a balanced view are not the type of people who jump down posters throats. Some of the extreme posts on here in the last few weeks have deserved it mind

I'm not so sure. Some of the people who would say they try to take a balanced view, jump down other poster's throats for not taking the same balanced view that they do.
They might call them 'pathetic' for example.
Sometimes when fans get down about what's happening, they can only see the bad things. It doesn't mean they are less of a fan, or that they love their club any less, it's just the way they deal with the predicament we find ourselves in.

Quite.
You'd hope confidence will be raised with the result if not the general performance.
The returning (and hopefully arriving) players will generate more competition for places.

| Quote: Rock God X "I appreciate that. Relative to getting beat by Salford at home, it is a good result. Relative to competing on level terms with the likes of Saints and Leeds and making a grand final, it is not.
I don't know if anyone's mentioned it at all this evening, but we're only two points behind Leeds who are in second place. And Salford beat Leeds. At Headingly.
Joking aside, I agree. Not a sparkling performance but an improvement on recent weeks and a small step in the right direction. Sometimes the confidence boost from ugly wins like this can be the impetus for a side to turn things around.
Here's hoping.

I think the Castleford game will be a much better indicator than Salford. A win at Murrayfield might just reveal a few green shoots of recovery.

| What about in the second halk where Calderwood came out of nowhere running infield to make that tackle?
I'd love to see that again.
