He's another Stand Off.
In a side where the players run off the ball and support well it works well playing with two players of this style.
In a side that plays a forward up the middle no frills type of game you need a half back thats an organiser and creative.
Sadly I think we're the latter style of play and unless Sharp & Agar drastically change our style of Rugby League by next season we're gonna be in trouble.
Time will tell I suppose.

| Quote: KNOCK OFF NIGEL "Possibly the same way as me.
I was a passholder last season and was annoyed at what I got for my money. Lack of effort more than results got to me and it got to the point where I really wasn't enjoying going to rugby anymore.
This season i'll go when I feel im getting value for money.
If the club produces then they will get more money out of me as its more expensive paying on the day.
If they don't they lose out and I save money on not buying a pass.'"
Fair enough. Personally I'm over last season's disappointments already. The club are doing something at least to try and make some positive changes by negotiating with Dykes and I think we've more players to come in yet. I can't imagine not wanting to see Crocker make his KC debut and welcome Richard Horne back in his testimonial season (plus England hero Mark Calderwood ) myself, but for me hope springs eternal.

Ah dont worry I won't be missing the the first couple.
You never know though one of them lovely passholders caps might just tempt me to buy my pass again.

Think they need to review this as an incentive - I bet 80% went straight in the landfill. Car flags, pins or preferably a naked players calendar would be much better

i want us to throw the ball about a bit more, see the support play improve and our speed at the PTB and defensive line
everyone is banging on about props tbh i agree to an extent but dowes, king, thacks, cusack and maloney with radders able to play there will be good nough to hold there own
the most important player we need back and fit is rich horne

That cap was about as laughable as the old Blue Peter badge.

| I think Thorman and Horne will compliment each other very well. Thorman will do the organising and the kicking and Horne will play his usual running role.
As for Calderwood he is still a top winger and can produce top efforts both in defence and attack.
Okay Thorman is not the most amazing signing ever but he gives us what we need with Dykes departure and its only for a year until we sign a quality no.7.
FOR ALL THOSE MOANING ABOUT THORMAN, GIVE A REALISITIC ALTERNATIVE FOR NEXT SEASON WHO WE COULD HAVE SIGNED..............................????????????????????

Not much of an improvement over Thorman IMO. And considerably more expensive in all likelihood.
Decent choices are thin on the ground.

Dobson is younger and has his best days ahead of him.

No proof of this, anyone who thinks Thorman has come on the cheap are in for a shock.

Agreed.

This is my fear also. Thorman plays more like a Stand Off than a Scrum Half as far as I can see. I know they played well together for Yorkshire, but that was one game behind a dominant pack.
Hopefully we'll both be pleasantly surprised.

Granted. I just don't think that his best days are going to be all that good.
Quote: Gordon Gekko "No proof of this, anyone who thinks Thorman has come on the cheap are in for a shock.'"
There's never any proof, but Dobson's salary was pretty well trailed by two out of the three parties involved so I'm inclined to believe the real value was not far off the public figure. If Thorman is being paid that much then we're daft.
