Sounds like someone's trying to manufacture a "good news" story for Rovers. "He was linked with FC and they were interested but decided he wanted to stay at Rovers where he believes he has his best chance of winning silverware". Heard it all before, love

I certainly hope he re-signs but 4 months later and the tree is bearing no fruit

There may be a case of agents revenge here

I disagree. He'd do just as good a job there as he does anywhere else, if not better.'"
Not got the size, body shape or stamina imo to play backrow.

Not sure about that one of the tallest players in the squad if not the tallest. Maybe needs 3-4Kg more but that would put him on a par with Radford/Tickle weight-wise. He runs the ball very strongly and due to where he has been playing across the backline I don't really see how his stamina for playing in the pack can be judged. As AA says I would think he would do a very good job in the pack like he often does anywhere else.

The thing is he often puts a good run in or a good tackle but in the pack he would be asked to do so continually. Could his body taking the constant hits, would he have the right level of stamina to keep up the right level of performance. He always plays well no matter where you put him and gives his all but if he is to play backrow then he needs to train accordingly in the off season for me. He would be going from touching the ball once every three or four sets and being tackled by a centre/winger to taking the ball up once a set and getting hit by forwards.
Pat Richards is tall but I doubt he could play backrow.

| Whiting could play backrow IMO
like you say though, he would have to train for that in the off season and maybe put a little extra weight on. but i believe he is capable and would benefit our pack

If he put weight on that would remove him from the utility berth he currently owns on merit and therefore would limit his game time! unless more weight would make Rich even faster??
