| With Fitz retiring we need a prop/SR replacement.
Washy, Dowes, Lauaki, Long can all go and we need to find two decent props from somewhere.

| I'd like Washbrook to stay, but as a backrower only. I'd still like us to sign a neew backrower, for starting back row of Tickle, Manu, Westerman with the new guy on the bench, and then have Washbrook as the cover and also for competition.
However, for the good of his career I think that he should make a decision to leave.
Our main priority must be the signing of a prop. Moa and O'Meley are awesome, hope that we have both signed up, and we have Radford signed up for next season. Looking at his form this season I would also offer Dowes another short contract, he's exceeded my expectations of him. We then need to buy another good prop for competition for places, interchange, cover, etc.
I'd let Lauaki go and Fitz seems to be retiring.
A new Prop and a Backrower must be prioritised, with new contracts given to Moa, Dowes, Washbrook.

Hame can cover prop and 2nd row and could be a bloody good player if coached right...we have Obst and possibly Newton to cover Houghton.

| If we did this:
In:
McKinnon (Full back)
Seymour (Scrum half)
Ellis (scrum half)
Heremaia (hooker)
2 forwards
Out:
Phelps (Full back)
Long (scrum half)
Washbrook (hooker/utility)
Fitzgibbon (LF/prop)
Lauaki (2nd row)
Burnett (2nd row)
Retain:
Horne
O'Meley
Moa
Dowes
IMO this would be upgrading at FB, scrum half and hooker, but we'd need 2 forwards. However, it's time for one of those to be an academy promotion - bit fed up of waiting for one or two to get their chance. If we can get a very good forward signing, I think the squad looks better. Also, could we get Scott Wheeldon back? Bit short of homegrown players.

Agree, but it hinges on being able to get hold of at least one British forward of sufficient quality, and those are in high demand (look at our inability to do so last year). The Heremaia move has given us less options for our forward recruitment. Hopefully we'll get what we need, though.
