SL young player of the year.
Both big blows, Whiting has to be one of the most unlucky players in the league.
Think that it is for Calderwood as a Hull player his last touch of the ball in a Hull shirt will be him kicking the ball to set up the match winning try against Rovers Hopfully he will get another contract in SL and recieve a good reception at the KC.
Tuffour wont be anywhere near the first team IMO, Lyne and Jack Briscoe will be infront of him IMO.

| How hard do you have to be to play a game of that intensity with a broken arm!

If he was that hard he wouldn't have wimped out of the Newton tackle!

| Gutted for both of them.
Can we start talking about an injury crisis (again) now?

| I am absolutely gutted by the news on both these players.
Whiting, who spent last year just getting back playing and this year being told to seize his chance to claim a shirt and doing so with both hands, has to wonder when his luck's going to change. And to play part of that game with a broken arm - speechless. What a player. Keep your chin up, Rich, all our thoughts and good wishes are with you for a swift recovery.
As for Calderwood, if that does prove to be his last game in a Hull shirt, I'm really sorry to see him go. Our best, certainly by far and away our most enthusiastic, player last year and reckon but for his hamstrings would have been a key figure this season. The piece of magic he created for Berro just before his hamstring went again summed up the refusal to give up lost causes that's characterised his appearances for FC. As said before, hope we get the chance to recognise his contribution before our last home game.

| I am gutted for both, but there could be a silver lining; I genuinely believe that Lynne is the real deal and should he get a run out for the remaining games he could prove himself to be Calderwoods replacement immediate and long term replacement. Reece Lynne has been destined for Hull's wing for a long time and noes the time to give him a run.

| Calderwood - If he leaves after this, as is rumoured, I'd be sad to see him go. Whilst he does make a few cock-ups now and then, he has some great moments too, and I love him for his enthusiasm for Hull FC. He looks proud to wear the shirt everytime he's on the field.
Whiting, it's so unlucky for him. He's been brilliant this season, and truly impressive as an allround player. I hope he can get back for the preseason, have a good one, and be back to his best for the start of next season.

| Gutted for Rich Whiting, total pro and has been outstanding all season. For me he has one of the best rugby brains in the SL and reads the game so well; he's a huge loss to us.
Calderwood - I think people underestimate how much we've missed him, he creates tries and has that individual attacking flair that we've missed a few times this season; I reckon if he'd been fit all year we'd have scored a lot more tries down the right side. If you look at the try he created for Berro on Thursday night, I'm not sure we'd have scored that with Whiting or Hall on the wing (although I accept that Hall probably would have scored the one Calders bombed!).
If the club can negotiate a [i'pay as you play'[/i type of deal or even sign him up on a 1 yr cheap deal with a 2nd year bonus option (should he stay fit) then I'd liketo see us keeping him.

| Horne to fullback, Tansey at 6 with Berro. Or, try Berro at fullback for a bit of a laugh, and put Tansey at 7. Berro at Fullback for masterstroke of the year!!!!!!!!!!!!
