I really hate pulling apart our big wins as it opens me up to the 'you're gutted when we win' clowns but we beat Saints on opening day which is known for freak results and then with a once-in-a-generation epic comeback win.. do you genuinely think this means we'd have any better chance of beating them in a playoff game?

A once in a generation come back with that I can remember 3 of happening this season. (not all including Hull) and a fair few more over the past few seasons.
Perhaps Hudd's game last week was their epic once in a generation win?
Fully fit, I'd have said we would have had a better chance of beating them (saints) than at any time in the last few years, but that's probably pretty hypothetical now given Long is injured.

the highlighting on the new board is (on firefox at least) pretty well indistinguishable from normal text.

I haven't suggested we have. I've said that at present we are the 4th best team based on results so far. We have gained more points than either Leeds or Huddersfield. We've played 19 games out of 27, not 3 or 4. It's a fair indication.

I meant once in a generation that Saint's throw away a lead like that not that a team comes back from a big deficit, but I think you knew that.
As to the last part of your post I can see what you're saying, it's a tricky one though as in 2006 we were twice the side we are now but then Saints were a lot better than they are now too.

But a fair indication of what though? It's a cliche but no prizes get handed out at this stage of the season.

The league table (especially after almost three quarters of the season) is a fair indication of how well teams are doing. Leeds may well overtake us but so far they have lost at Wakefield and Huddersfield and been beaten at home by Rovers, Castleford and the Crusaders.

I'm really not trying to wind you up but I'm not disputing that a league table is a fair indication of 'how teams are doing' up to a particular point, hence my analogy of hull city's first half season in the prem and us winning our first five games last season... As an indication of how teams will finish though I don't think it means much at all, especially when there are playoffs involved...

| Look right now we are the 4th best side in the competition...the table does not lie
We may not finish 4th at the end of the season, but we will hopefully be in the play-offs, massive improvement on the last 2 seasons..
Personally I still think 4th is achievable depending on who Agar uses in the h/back positions....Happy with our season so far.
