We shall see, obviously you know everything about everyone who posts on here, what they do for a living, who they might have spoken to about issues etc.

An EX UKBA worker.
No one knows the intimate details of Chase's visa, except his case worker.
FWIW, I'd rather listen to his opinion, unless you have previously worked for UKBA.

I've worked with UKBA on a number of occasions, I know people who work for UKBA, I also know specialists in asylum and immigration law.
Chase may well get a visa, he may well not get a visa, and we may decide it isn't worth the hassle, but saying he will get one because he has a child with a british citizen is simplifying the issue in the extreme.
If AP has to spend £200k to get Chase and another £100k getting him a visa, he maybe isn't as an attractive prospect as he first thought.

I'm not interested in the Tit for Tat debate, however I rekon the legal bill must be getting pretty hefty, and he must feel its worth pursuing?!

With Wire securing Hodgeson, Ratchford, O'Brien and Briers for the next few seasons and the Holdsworth deal being well documented, I'm starting to think Myler and Holdsworth could happen.

Not even sure how you managed to arrive at that little outburst.
My point was valid, if anyone knows the process better than someone that actually worked in the industry I'd be surprised and to the best of our knowledge no-one here works for the UKBA.

I guess it depends how far the legal team have got, if he's spent £80k and they believe they are £20k away from getting it done, what AP won't do is let it be open ended, they will have set a deadline in order to go after other options if they can't get him a visa.

to the best of YOUR knowledge
I know for a fact there are people posting on here who know more about immigration law than some UKBA staff.
Anyway, it matters not, we'll see what the next few weeks bring.

Most people who use the phrase you did actually believe that it's an EU thing, so it's hardly pedantry to clear up the actual facts.

The RFL don't set the criteria for international qualification. The RLIF do. While I personally would prefer a system like you outline, it would never get past the Australian members of the RLIF.

Actually we have one person posting on here who currently works in this exact area, although not for the UKBA now.
Although as someone else pointed out, only the people directly involved with Chase's application/appeal will be in possession of all the facts. Given the complexity of immigration proceedings they'd be the only people with any real idea of the likely outcomes.

I really don't quite understand why you're doubting me, or why you're getting quite so worked up, you know nothing about me. You've not been around long so you maybe didn't read the various people giving their informed opinions when the Crocker visa debacle was ongoing, I've probably forgotten more about immigration legislation than you've ever known, but I am sure you know more about whatever it is you do for a living than I do, kind of how it works.
I don't work for UKBA, but you can't really work in my sector and not have come across asylum/immigration issues.

Would be interesting to hear their opinion on the situation, although as it wouldn't be fair to identify them their posts are probably getting overlooked as pure speculation as are everybody else's.

True, it's fun to speculate though, the board would be a graveyard without the Chase saga!
