Yes they are, but how much help with dispensations on quota places etc did it take.
Depending on who gets promoted, and at a time when attendances at the two showpiece finals are not what they could be, will fans opt for following their team to France twice, or attending as a neutral at either final? My money is on the former, and it doesn't matter how much marketing they do, fans have a finite amount to spend on the sport.
I agree with an earlier post, in that once Toulouse were promoted the first time, they should have been allowed two seasons in SL.

It appears to be irrelevant now but personally I would give every team gaining promotion to Superleague a 2 year guarantee, unless its the team who had been relegated the previous year.

You can talk about expansionism all you like but it’s tried and tested that it’s the M62 corridor that keeps RL going. Whoever wins the £million game, it spells the death knell of a few Championship clubs aspirations for Super league because IMG’s plans take over for 2025.

Fev are probably at their limit of how big they'll grow, their stadium wasn't full for one of their most important games of the season, with a population of 13k, there is only so much the club can grow. Toulouse has a population of 500k, so they just need to get 2% of the city interested in RL to average 10k crowds

They are not completely an expansion team as RL was played in Perpignan for decades, but they definately got the branding spot on. The colours and Dragon are great and it gets a whole region (and wannabe republic) behind them.

The 3 years of no relegation worked well, they got to a CC final in their 2nd year. So its baffling why that policy was abaondoned but thats RL for you...

Always thought Wrexham was a missed opportunity for the game, close to the heartlands not a lot else going on in North Wales and a legit base for Wales national side. Years later the hollywood stars have seen the potential with the Football team.
