Given the fact that Lynch is under contract, wouldn't the transfer fee be one of the first things that would need to be agreed?

I would expect that the Bulls would first of all have to receive an offer they were willing to accept before granting permission to speak to one of their players.

Elliss won't get near the halfs,the only way he'll get a game is if someone gets injured,isn't anywhere near a super league standard half.

I said if we want the best like lynch then we have to be willing to pay a transfer fee. As we have already discussed there isnt many younger alternatives on the market. Hence why I said that lynch would be a good signing and is a realistic signing. I also stated that i wasnt bothered about his age as players can go on for longer these days.

The younger brigade are not they need the more experienced heads like lynch to carry the gauntlet while they progress.
Id have lynch anyday over an average kid who may improve the older he gets.

but if there is a youngster out there who is young and already very good then of course you would get him but the fact is there isnt so you have to look at the older brigade and lynch is one player who id happily sign.

Lynch isn't available but we'd pay a fee for him. So we can pay a fee for a youngster ie Larne Patrick.

Lynch is a good player but at 32 and paying a fee isn't something I'd be sad to miss out on.

If that is the case then we can hope but I guess it depends if the coach rates him and if there club wants to sell him.

We can only sign players if the clubs want to release them and the player wants to leave.

Not sure why everyone keeps saying we shouldn't pay any money for a player, it's Pearson's money and won't go on the salary cap, so not sure what the big deal is?

I doubt they would want rid of him as he's a fantastic player but with a fee that they couldn't refuse I don't know 100k (that's a guesstimation). They could maybe do with the money or think we'll cash in as we have x player in the academy who can take his place.

Shame the same can't be said about us and our academy, seeing as Agar won't blood them.

Because I don't think paying a fee for a 32 year old player is worth the price. We paid a fee for Westy because he is young and should be with us for years to come.

I just can't see any club granting a rival SL club permission to speak to one of their under contract players before agreeing an acceptable fee/deal. It seems illogical to my mind.

I spoke to Agar after the game tonight, he told me O'Caroll had signed, Lynch was almost complete and after a bit of thought there was no truth in the Bridge rumours.

Also, he was one of the nicest blokes I've ever spoken to, and happy to talk despite the coach being ready to leave.
