Think the negatvity is seriously gtting to fans' heads! Surely we should be praising our prospects and hoping the best half to grace the super league era can show him the way.

Nicklas only made a handful of appearances off the bench last season,and played at centre in at least one iirc?hardly enough to write the kid off!!! no wonder,they are not coming through,like previous years.all they have to do,is read comments on here!!!

It's not quite that simple though, there is a difference between negativity and telling it how it is, It's not as if people are slating the kid, he is a talented player who I would like to see given a chance at some point, but it will be hard, more talented players have failed to make the grade at SL level even in recent years at this club, he will need to work hard to give himself a chance and needs a lot of luck also, I think he has a good chance but it will take more then wishful thinking and simply having Long around I'm afraid, people are going to be skeptical and it's always a gamble relying on a youngster, dosnt mean people want him to fail or have written him off.

Re how many games did it take for Cookie to show his class (using that term loosely) He, Horne & King looked quality from day one. Admittedly the side was very poor but the guy oozed quality. Danny Nicklas I am sorry to say is not anywhere near that.

Agreed, he looked in and out to say the least in his first few seasons, and he is the best we produced in recent years by far, there isn't a set rule for players, some develop quicker then others, Cooke seemed to transform into a top class player almost overnight, Richard Horne was overlooked for international honours at youth level but made an impact at super league level at 16, Longy was released by Wigan because They had Craig Murdoch, there are loads of examples of players who looked on the scrapheap turning into world beaters and players with world class talent as youngsters flattering to deceive layer on.

Now the Inglis deal has been blocked. Surely we should be looking at the Souths squad and seeing who we could prize away.

its because people think if there no sam tompkins and go in at the deep end and is class from day 1 there rubbish!! some fans just dont get it
