| If the system had been in place last season we'd have been 9pts adrift of 4th place after 23 rounds. With only 3 home games in the "Super 8" we'd have had little or no chance of making the top4 with our season effectively over.
So much for Nigel Wood's claim that every minute of every match matters

| There will still be meaningless games. If teams have little or no chance of making the top eight they will rest players in preparation for the 'Qualifiers'.
Imagine if we are 11th and taking on Wakefield in 12th in round 23. That'll draw the fans in, won't it.

I agree but when teams play in the "Qualifiers "they will be playing 7 games which will be meaningful in their attempts to get into Super league for the following season whereas the teams who finish 7th or 8th will have 7 games with nothing to play for but pride.

You can't compare points from a 14 team league to a 12 team league. Some clubs will have played easier clubs, some harder, so the points difference could appear larger.
I think the teams battling around 7-10th will be more released not to be in the relegation 8 rather than pleased to be competing for the GF. If you finish 8th after 23 rounds, you don't exactly deserve a good shot at the championship and not should you expect it.

Yes, because currently 11th vs 12th at the end of the season is a huge draw in SL. No fear of relegation. Little chance of making the play-offs if any. It's hardly an argument against if it applies to pretty much every system.
In fact, 11th vs 12th could be significant in a club reaching 10th place, which would give them an extra home game in the play offs. That could be significant.

How can you have a fair system?'"
All the teams will start on 0 points with 9th and 10th SL clubs gaining the advantage of the extra home fixture, and 1st and 2nd in the championship gaining the advantage of the extra home fixture.

| Reading in HDM that the bonus points system might be used across all leagues next year.If it was in use this year it would have benefited us more than any other team. The table would have looked slightly different. Before anyone jumps on my back saying that results might have gone a different way I based it on actual results for this season.
Leeds 53pts
Saints 51pts
Cas 50pts
Wigan 49pts
Wire 46pts
Hudds 39pts
Cats 38pts
Widnes 37pts
FC 33pts
KR 30pts
Salford 29pts
Wakey 27pts
Bradford 5pts
London 3pts

Ah so you bring in a new system whilst making all the clubs think they are still playing under the old system.
That's what that table is. I assume you've compiled it accurately I'm sure no one can be bothered to check
