I know someone who was party to the conversation with James Rule, that's good enough for me.

| Quote: Uncle Junior "All fair enough, but when in a 2 1/2 year tenure a head coach has seen off two assistants (both of whom have far more knowledge and experience of the top level of the game than himself) then its pretty clear to me what that is most likely to infer. Of course it may not be the case, but in the overall picture of Agar's time at the club it certainly fits.'"
Moore said he left for 'personal reasons'. We have no reason to suspect that this is not true. The situation between Agar and Sharp may just have been down to a clash of personalities. It's impossible to say that either of them were to blame for Sharp's departure without full knowledge of their relationship. It's easy to jump to conclusions based on limited evidence, I think it's far healthier to reserve judgement on things like this until you're in possession of all the facts.

What amazes me after a loss is the change on this board, even though we are 4/5th we are poop....Thank feck this board only represents a VERY small minority of the faithful....
The season has been a success considering we have played the majority of the season without h/backs, I expect to win a least 1 play-off game (possibly more if h/backs are on the pitch)
Next season I would like to see more consistency.'"
I think you're mistaken, people were delighted we won the derby but I don't recall anyone (except yourself, the Expro and one or two others) getting carried away that we were an excellent side all of a sudden. Do you honestly think it's likely that the views expressed on the board are the polar opposite to what most fans are thinking?
Your opinion changes like the weather usually but I guess you have to stick to the 'Expro-Lite' attitude now after claiming after the derby that you are confident that we will win silverwear under Agar

| Quote: hullbg "I know the point Sebasteano is making regarding signing ageing players (Long/Fitz) Meley is a different story as he still has plenty of years in him. I was quite happy with the signing of Long but i always assumed we would be bringing in a understudy as well but it has not happened.
Fitz has definatley done well, but he is getting overworked because he can do the full 80. Long has been the biggest dissapointment of the 3 for me and not because of the injuries as i think we all expected him to be injured and miss a few games. I just expected us to click more with him on the pitch, yet we have seen just as many lacklustre performances were we look clueless in attack with him in the squad as we have without him.'"
And the reason for that is?
We have a poor coach who has no clue on how RL should be played. We could have 13 of the best players in world rugby playing for us and Agar will get them playing one out rugby, not supporting play, no dummy runners, no kicking game, no one running on the angle etc, etc.
I have simply had enough of watching drab RL, i will not be renewing my pass for 2011...the first time in 14 years! I will of course still support the guys but i'll pick and choose the games

Knowing someone who was party to one conversation and them relaying that conversation to you doesn't seem like a 'definite' basis for deciding anything. One conversation does not necessarily betray the events leading up to that conversation and apportioning blame based on someone else's version of events is always risky.
For example, if EXPRO and Jake The Peg had witnessed the same conversation, I reckon you'd get two very different versions of what actually took place.
There are enough reasons to be sceptical about Agar's suitability for the job based on things that we can see. I just don't think it's helpful to assume that there are more reasons based on stuff we haven't witnessed first hand.

Our forwards are probably on a par or better.'"
You reckon? Who had ever heard of george carmont or amos roberts before they came over? Similarly pat richards. None of them were considered that great before this season. Add in an inexperienced goulding and a past his best martin gleeson and it's hardly a 3/4 line of superstars. they've been playing their star half back at full back recently and leuluai is flitting between hooker and SH.
leeds and saints have pretty much been relying on kids all season in the 3/4's due to injuries.
wire I'll give you but I think we have plenty of quality in our back line, we just don't use it. We have a current GB winger who hardly ever touches the ball and a former GB centre who gets similar service

| I'd heard of them! But you'd be right in saying they were good, if not exceptional NRL players It just shows how poor the standard in SL is compared to the NRL, despite what the RFL and SKy would have you believe.

How so? Because they're playing for a SL rookie coach? Bear in mind where he served his apprenticeship; probably the current best model for a RL coaching set-up anywhere in the modern game. Wigan play to their manifold strengths. And they have more than one game plan.
I was disappointed with our performance on Friday on a whole host of levels. Watching the game again, trying to be subjective, Wigan were classes apart. Everywhere across the pitch. And in the stands.
We're a big club with regards to finance [income] and support. Unfortunately we don't appear to have a big club mindset anywhere else.'"
Who had ever heard of richards and carmont before they came over? Hardly world class signings, plus wigan were reported to want to get rid of richards a couple of seasons back. They're both solid players but I doubt they'd be more than fringe players at most top NRL clubs.
How do you think yeaman and briscoe would go in teh wigan back line? Briscoe in particular is better quality than any of the wigan 3/4's

I thought the reason the current GB winger hardly ever touches the ball is because he's playing outside the former GB centre who never passes to him

5. Pat Richards
6. Sam Tomkins
7. Thomas Leuluai
8. Mark O'Meley

11. Joel Tomkins
12. Craig Fitzgibbon
13. Sean O'Loughlin
14. Danny Houghton
15. Stuart Fielden
16. Sam Moa
17. Cameron Phelps
So by my count 3 in the starting line up; 5 in the 17. Doesn't look like we're equal in strength and I almost took Paleasina ahead of Moa.'"
You're picking players on form though. yes, we'd take plenty of wigan players now, but how many Hull players would look much better under maguire?

You'll have to remind me of the people who used the term, "excellent side".
