Eastwood was a good player, certainly not a great. If you look at the list of former GB players it's hardly an endorsement of greatness |

4) His personal life and off field activities 10 points for a national honour, 3 points for Lance Todd, 2 points Harry Sunderland etc

you know what I seem to remember an awful lot of injury time for Raynor over the years, suspect mental issues back then too, I recall having a conversation with a past Physio who said clearly that 99% of Raynors issues and injuries were in his head!! however when he was playing well he was white hot!!
BUT he wasnt better than Blacklock or Sing whom I both recal playing through serious pain barriers for the club due to injuriy situations and Blacklock not being able to walk after a number of games due to pain and both were when on form as good!!
Raynor to me will be easily forgotten...
This year with service both Briscoe and Calderwood will prove to be much better'"

I knew his first wife well , ( too well) so i know what he was all about as was most in those days, the term model professional didnt exactly fit anyone pre 1995 did it however on the field he was a superb winger |

Crusaders RL have recruited their third player from East Yorkshire outfit Hull FC in a matter of weeks as former Great Britain International Gareth Raynor will make the move to Wales, along with Tommy Lee and Jamie Thackray.
The 31-year-old winger was subject to various scandals and court appearances following a number of incidents that took place in 2009. However the winger was released by the black and whites and the Crusaders have pulled out the stops to give him another opportunity.
