| Quote: The Dentist Wilf "This piece in the Mail is way beyond even their usual imaginations for reading it again it's obvious that a lot of the information comes directly from the Club who probably don't want to comment officially themselves at present for it describes the process s rather than the outcome. .
But for the Mail to have made it up there, is just too much detail, Looking to move in a different direction, looking in Australia, Lasty not getting the job or being involved in coaching the first team in future, (obviously a stipulation from a new Coach), Purtill staying on with Ellis, a couple of signings to come, been looking since March etc etc there is far too much detail for me.
As for Hodgson they may well have thrown that in but they imply he is in the box seat. I and several other fans heard from Adam how much he rated Hodgson way back at a Danny Houghton Testimonial Lunch at the KCom in 2017. and I said in the `diary several weeks ago that he was my bet for the job.
I know there is no room for sentiment in sport but I have to say that after what he has done in such uniquely terrible circumstances, what he has been through and the response he got from the players I feel for Lasty to be honest. He has done nothing wrong except stick with the club he loves and do as he was asked in at first, pretty mind numbing circumstances.. However, that said we need a clean sweep and a new start and if I was coming in I'd want to start with a clean coaching slate myself who wouldn't? But I guess if the mail is right about our new coach then I'm a bit underwhelmed at present.'"
Agree with that. I also think whoever comes will probably have a difficult pre season to negotiate with relocation, covid, and a general lack of familiarity with the club.

| I'm scratching my head a bit, I mean welcome to Hull and I'll reserve judgement until I've seen some results but its hardly a coach with a proven track record that'll put bums on seats.
I'm not saying he is the wrong candidate as never seen that side of him but it doesn't at first site scream out as an improvement on Last. Want to and hopefully be more then happily proved wrong. Just hope Pearson hasn't got a bit over excited here.

All men are created equal, some work harder in preseason.

| Last offered a new role "similar to his role before he became Radford's assistant" (James Smailes). Might as well have just told him to love off.
Really don't see what an assistant at a team of little to no consequence in the NRL offers that outweighs Andy Last's performance since taking over in the extraordinary circumstances of this year and getting us to a semi final. He'd earned a shot at taking us through a pre-season of his own crafting as well as some signings.

| Welcome Brett. New broom and sounds like won't be the last new backroom arrival. Matty Head been mentioned on FB. Good that he'll be arriving shortly, hopefully a couple of new signings to come too.

| We’ve been crying out for fresh ideas so AP and BH get my backing. Plus we keep Gaz Ellis at the club .
I’m sure AP has done due diligence and taken many opinions on board.
Another assistant on the way from sounds of it, and I expect new signings to be announced soon now
Did Purtill work with BH at Huddersfield?

| Quote: Mrs Barista "I'm curious now, will check the numbers
Sandercock winning record at HKR around 40%. Tony Smith around 18%.
Sandercock is quite a popular assistant coach in the NRL and since returning from England has had spells at Newcastle, Wests, Cronulla and next year at Canterbury with Trent Barrett
One of his relations came to rent next door to us and occasionally he came to visit. Lovely chap.

Another fun fact - when the 2021 season kicks off he will have won 3 SL games in 572 days. #strongandchallenging

He’ll maybe able to offer a team up, that actually plays some rugby and not the predictable of the last 3-4 seasons

| This appointment works for me, we need a new start. The backroom coaching staff needs clearing out too, fresh start. Bring a big broom with you Brett.
