Has anyone thought of the club using the 'rehab' route? If he is as much of an alcholic as he is made out to be, then this might be an option they're thinking of taking.
He is a talent gone bad, could it be possible to turn him around?

I've worked in HR for many years and trust me, 2 weeks is nothing for a disciplinary so stop the FC bashing as this is one thing that is out of their hands.

You're quite correct Karen, I had to sack someone within their 6 month probationary period and the amount of evidence you have to supply to justify your reason is unbelievable!!

And the correct way to handle it for the lad too, he has to be made fully aware in the cold light of day what the issue is which will of course clearly define for his legal people who will be with him at the time , hopefully this will allow him to move on with his life and sort his head out however anyone who has ever had any dealing with anyone who has the drink disease will know that without intense medical help it is almost as impossible to kick as is drug addiction and without that help he will simply spiral out of control ... which i am sure no one wants...

I am expecting him to leave the club very shortly and was in fact at the club today with his team for a discussion..

albeit if he does leave i will not be happy either for the lad or for the club however the club are a sporting company not a councelling outlet for AA..
I would say to all those though that are bagging the lad all too easily that they should look back to the Legends that graced black and white in the past as many will know for sure that we had one or two absolute legends who had much bigger issues than Drinking!!!

I suppose I am saying i take no joy out of seeing a fine young players life and career destroyed by something he possibly cannot right now control himself.. i know i am harping but i feel desperately sad for the boy and wish i was better placed to help him sort this ..

I hope we give him one last shot and put some hard nand fast rules in place aswell as some help. Probably won't happen though which is a shame for us and him.
