i was a cooke fan even when he signed for the dobbins, its funny that other players who left hull for them haven,t been villified so much cannot be bothered to name names too many, isn,t it the fact that at the time if the hull board had offered him decent money he would still be playing for us if you are in a job and a bloke comes with a blank cheque book and says name your price your either  or a jehovas witness to refuse, fair enough left in a cloud but he is a human being with a family so get off his back ffs cookie and rich horne turned down wigan they first started playing can anybody remember challenge cup 2005 |

 thought it was cooke that made the approach to rovers?? cooke went in search of the big fat pay cheque,and rovers were stupid enough to give him it.

As York has more pubs per head than any other place in the UK it seems a fairly sensible move for Cooke to make.

Agree with you on this one. Without him FC wouldn't have won the Challenge Cup and Rovers would not be in Super League, it's that simple. Massively pi$$ed off at the time, but just pity him now for his greed and waste of undoubted talent. A sad case.

That's really thought-provoking actually when you put it like that - he was with both clubs at the start their rise again, don't think his contributions should ever be forgotten, no matter how badly he's gone about things. And, for all the argueing, professional RL in Hull is surely in it's best shape for 25 years, and he's been a big part of the growth of both clubs. |
