| Sounds more likely to be Hodgson, unless someone has gone under the radar...

Enlighten us as to what we should do then
1. how do we know who has applied for the job. we can't appoint people who haven't applied
2. no chance of getting a NRL coach as we cannot offer a comparable salary to Aus
3. plenty of NRL assistants have done well and won things with other clubs - anderson, mcguire, elliot, even price. tony smith came over here with no head coaching experience
or do you think we should have gone down the Brit route

Salford could be a good bet

I thought that to be honest. Salford could do worse than giving Lasty a shot.

Yeah all the names youve listed were proper assistants to great coaches - Hodgson cant even get an assistants job - signing him as coach is like KR signing Sandercock ffs - he's a nobody who once taught Shaul a couple of things then fooked off!

In fairness Sandercock's tenure at Rovers probably had a better win ratio than Tony Smith's.

Seb would've moaned at whoever we're linked with, that's his thing. Don't know why he bothers with Hull if they cause him so much angst.
As for Brett Hodgson being a 'nobody'
State of Origin, Man of Steel and Lance Todd Trophy winner.

| According to the HDM, Andy will not be part of the first team coaching set up.
And an Australian is thought to be the candidate to take over, I sense we’re on the verge of an announcement.
Sorry I’m a bit behind, was having my tea, and it’s obviously been covered, not my tea, the story

| Reckon Hodgson has had the job a while.
West’s moved him to a job which is easier to fill from their perspective.
Fonua will know him and Ellis will still have contacts there. Sure AP sought their views.

The club speaks regularly to the likes of Motu, Fitz etc. Whoever it is will hardly be a random appointment given the volume and diversity of interest in the role.

| This piece in the Mail is way beyond even their usual imaginations for reading it again it's obvious that a lot of the information comes directly from the Club who probably don't want to comment officially themselves at present for it describes the process s rather than the outcome. .
But for the Mail to have made it up there, is just too much detail, Looking to move in a different direction, looking in Australia, Lasty not getting the job or being involved in coaching the first team in future, (obviously a stipulation from a new Coach), Purtill staying on with Ellis, a couple of signings to come, been looking since March etc etc there is far too much detail for me.
As for Hodgson they may well have thrown that in but they imply he is in the box seat. I and several other fans heard from Adam how much he rated Hodgson way back at a Danny Houghton Testimonial Lunch at the KCom in 2017. and I said in the `diary several weeks ago that he was my bet for the job.
I know there is no room for sentiment in sport but I have to say that after what he has done in such uniquely terrible circumstances, what he has been through and the response he got from the players I feel for Lasty to be honest. He has done nothing wrong except stick with the club he loves and do as he was asked in at first, pretty mind numbing circumstances.. However, that said we need a clean sweep and a new start and if I was coming in I'd want to start with a clean coaching slate myself who wouldn't? But I guess if the mail is right about our new coach then I'm a bit underwhelmed at present.
